This is not how it’s supposed to be. Tuning out the pain works some days. Others, it is relentless, overwhelming. It can hurt to blink. Thank goodness there’s work. the kids. the dog. They give a reason to get out of bed – avoid the guilt. No one understands. Going along with my boss or partner seems so simple at the time - until it turns sour. Irritability comes out of nowhere. Snap! Then crash! At least social distancing makes isolating more acceptable. It’s all so exhausting. Like having the gas pedal and the brake to the floor, at the same time. ‘Coping’ and ‘managing’ are a joke. Is relief too much to ask?!

I focus on the unique challenges of those in high-pressure careers. The intensity of these jobs often leads to relationship problems, anxiety about performance, stress, exhaustion, and burnout, resulting in a shrinking support network and frustrated partners. That’s why I also focus on the families of such individuals.

Some people find themselves feeling stuck with certain thoughts and feelings. Others find themselves repeating behaviors that lead to unproductive and problematic situations in their life. Therapy is a process where these concerns can be discussed and worked through from a nonjudgmental standpoint. My therapeutic approach is to assist you in reaching your personal or relationship goals with more effective ways of being. The adolescents and adults I work with are understood as individuals that have their own unique attitudes, beliefs, and experiences.

The world is a more complicated place to live. I think those seeking therapy are trying to make sense of a world in which the rules have changed. Clients want a therapist who has experienced life, is human and can teach without preaching. I believe clients want to feel better than they do, want to make sense of their past, not be buried or defined by it.Clients deserve a therapist who can create a safe, non judgmental environment to explore. They deserve a therapist who can foster trust in themselves, who will push but with compassion and safety.

When I reflect on my education, professional, personal experience and distill my thoughts; I conclude *You are feeling pretty bad or you would not be making this search. *You want some part or several parts of your life to work better. *What used to work or what you do to improve things is not helping or not helping fast enough.* People change many areas and elements of their life when they figure out what needs attention, what to do, and how.* People are embarrassed to make this first call for information but also know - It Is Time to Do Something.
