The purpose of our sessions will be:
* To determine which areas of your life are not working as well as you want or need; Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Sexual, Social, Spiritual, Financial, Career, Marriage,
Family
.
When I reflect on my education, professional, personal experience and distill my thoughts; I conclude *You are feeling pretty bad or you would not be making this search. *You want some part or several parts of your life to work better. *What used to work or what you do to improve things is not helping or not helping fast enough.* People change many areas and elements of their life when they figure out what needs attention, what to do, and how.* People are embarrassed to make this first call for information but also know - It Is Time to Do Something.

I am passionate about making sure people know they don’t have to deal with all of life’s twists and turns on their own. Whether you’re experiencing a particularly stressful season or you’re looking to heal from something you’ve been carrying for a long time, I believe we can work through it together. I provide a non-judgmental, relaxed environment in which you can unpack what’s on your mind, explore unhelpful thought/behavior patterns, and grow in your confidence to challenge them.

The condition of our relationships are crucial for overall peace and contentment in our lives. As someone trained in marriage and
family therapy
, I focus on the space between you and your loved ones. Sometimes there are past histories of resentment, nonproductive communication styles or cognitive filters that are us causing problems. Sometimes our way of being in the world or the structure of our systems keep us stuck in problematic cycles and patterns. In our work together, we can increase self-awareness and create pathways to relational healing.

Transitions such as relationships, challenging
family
dynamics, identity crisis, trauma, career, abuse, divorce, loss, and grief.
Often a question asked prior to counseling is, am I thriving or simply surviving? Individuals question their life path and need help to figure out where to start exploring. We work to identify strengths, areas of growth, and both are used to help cultivate a fulfilling life experience. Clients head and hearts can be on different pages so we also work to connect them which in-turn causes less uncertainty and confusion in decision making.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
