Accepting new clients via Telehealth. I have been practicing psychotherapy for 17 years. During that time, I have repeatedly observed that each client is unique, and brings their own reasons for seeking therapy. Therefore, my challenge as a therapist is to create a different psychotherapy experience for each client. The research is clear, the most curative aspect of therapy is the relationship. I focus on connecting with a person where they are. Through new skills and insight, I help to rediscover one's authentic way of being in the world. Improved well-being comes from better care for wounded aspects of ourselves.

I have immediate availability on Mondays and Thursdays for telehealth! It takes courage to share your story and look honestly at yourself. You might feel disconnected in your relationships, weighed down by old wounds, or overwhelmed by constant worry. Maybe you’re tired of saying yes when you want to say no, or feeling like you’ve lost touch with who you are. In therapy, we work together to make sense of what’s holding you back so you can reconnect with your authentic self and show up with confidence and ease — both for yourself and in your relationships.

I specialize in psychological assessment, neuropsychological testing, and developmental evaluations with individuals of all ages (toddlers through adults). The goals of such assessments are to : 1) Identify and clarify any specific difficulties, 2) Explain how a person is affected, and 3) Provide guidance for how a person can be helped best. My testing procedures are designed to be comprehensive (covering all of the referral concerns) and each evaluation is specific to the individual person. I greatly appreciate the individuals and families I work with, and I thoroughly enjoy being able to provide insight and assisting in one's personal growth.

During times of difficulty, sometimes we need someone to talk to that is open-minded and non-judgmental. Someone who can be a supportive person that also helps build insight and supports us in reaching our goals. My goal is to build a relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. This approach includes creating a partnership between therapist and client, where the client determines the focus of therapy and works collaboratively to identify attainable goals. During our work together, we can explore your reasons for seeking therapy and build a relationship where you feel supported.

You feel your emotions deeply and strongly. In fact, you may feel that intensity right now. Your emotions aren't just a whisper, they're a high-volume, full color experience. And yet you find yourself not sitting with that, because it's scary, overwhelming, or confusing. You may distract, avoid, numb, or push yourself to "get over it." What you need is a safe place to feel, to build gentle coping skills, to stop seeing sensitivity as a defect and start owning it as your superpower. You want the tools to stay with discomfort, come out stronger, clearer, and more connected, so that your emotional richness becomes your strength.

Thank you for being here in the midst of it all. If you're wondering how to build a life in a world that's not built for differences, I might be the right therapist for you. I am passionate about social justice. I define that as a commitment to intersectional feminism, disability rights, queer rights, trans rights, fat liberation, health at every size, and ableism. (Not a comprehensive list!) I especially enjoy working with folks who experience challenges related to neurodivergence, trans and queer identities.

Immediate in-person appointments available! Hello, and welcome! I work best with clients who are going through transitions, experiencing relationship problems, unravelling past traumas, breaking away from family patterns, coping with mood disorders, and trying to find themselves. I strongly believe therapy is for everyone, and that most of us at some point in our lives find ourselves needing clarity, refocusing, and processing. Some of my clients have seen counselors throughout their lives; others are having their first experience in therapy. I enjoy working with both! (At this time I am only seeing clients 18+ years old)

I have the belief that all doors open and close for a reason and that if we desire to be where the creator wants us, he will put us exactly where we need to be and I believe that I'm supposed to be in a place where I help others realize this. I also have a huge passion for instilling hope into the lives of others. I've seen people lose hope and believe the lie that it is non-existent; I have a passion for helping people regain hope and grow personally and spiritually. Fuller Living has locations in Anoka, Roseville, Blaine, and Saint Louis Park.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
