My name is Iesha McLeod and I am a Licensed Psychologist (LP) based in Minnesota. I received my Doctorate from Albizu University-Miami and have been practicing for 8 years. I enjoy creating an atmosphere where clients can identify and become their true selves. It is my belief that sometimes experiences in life can taint one’s genuine self and cause them to develop defense mechanisms that prevent their true nature from being shared with the world. I have a passion for helping others navigate through life’s experiences and difficulties in order to embrace and nurture their true identity.

My ideal client is someone who is ready to look within and explore the patterns that have shaped their life—someone who may feel stuck, disconnected, or uncertain but still has a deep desire to grow and heal. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or unresolved family dynamics that continue to influence their present experiences. Often, these clients have spent much of their lives caring for others or managing responsibilities, and now they are realizing it’s time to turn inward and nurture themselves.

I offer a nonjudgmental space for exploring your inherent worth and value. Some of my specialties include working with individuals with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life changes (e.g., college, job change, relocation), racial/cultural identity issues, and trauma (e.g. childhood abuse/neglect).
I have a few immediate openings for new clients. I believe that across our life we develop many strengths, relational patterns, and skills that help us manage and navigate difficult situations and relationships. However, while these skills or patterns may have been helpful in the past, they may not be effective when we are confronted with new, unexpected challenges. I hold that therapy is a safe space where we can explore our past experiences, make sense of who we are and the ways we relate, understand our struggles, and find new solutions that lead to healing and clarity.

I work with folks who are dealing with anxiety, depression, questions around identity, childhood wounds, difficulties in relationships, and complex trauma.
Hi there! My name is Sarah and I am a fellow traveler, story teller and story listener. I believe the stories we are drawn to intimately reflect who we are and have the ability to guide us towards our own healing. I believe the experiences we have as children are imprinted on us and mold us into what we believe about ourselves in the present: the joyful, the hurtful, and the confusing. It’s our journey to examine those experiences and identities, integrate some, and let go of the rest.
It’s not just enough to say, “it’s not my fault”, but to feel your whole body relax and know in your bones, “it’s not my fault.”

I work with children (ages 6+), teens, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based approach that helps the brain process and resolve distressing memories using bilateral stimulation and visualization. Many clients experience relief more quickly than with traditional talk therapy, especially when they feel stuck in painful patterns or past experiences.

You might be feeling emotionally drained—like you’re holding everything together on the outside while struggling to stay grounded on the inside. Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself or your relationships, or like the coping strategies that used to work just aren’t anymore. You want to feel more present, more steady, more like yourself again—but you’re not sure how to get there on your own. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, reconnect, and begin to feel more supported in your inner world. Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
