Family Therapists in Sibley County, MN
My name is Iesha McLeod and I am a Licensed Psychologist (LP) based in Minnesota. I received my Doctorate from Albizu University-Miami and have been practicing for 8 years. I enjoy creating an atmosphere where clients can identify and become their true selves. It is my belief that sometimes experiences in life can taint one’s genuine self and cause them to develop defense mechanisms that prevent their true nature from being shared with the world. I have a passion for helping others navigate through life’s experiences and difficulties in order to embrace and nurture their true identity.

Openings for online clients! I specialize in helping people who feel they are not “enough” or should be different or perfect. They often feel invisible, unappreciated, and are in "toxic" or even narcissistic relationships. Do you give your kindness and compassion to others but not yourself? If you're willing to feel all the feelings and be vulnerable, you can challenge the "shoulds" in your mind and learn to accept and celebrate your authentic self. You can correct unhealthy relationship patterns (even with yourself), assert good boundaries, and practice self-compassion. Life is hard enough without you being so hard on yourself!

I work with individuals facing a variety of challenges, such as depression, mood disorders, family relationship issues, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions.
I use several types of treatment, like CBT, ACT, person-centered therapy and other evidence-based modalities to meet the requirements of each person. I think therapy works best when it is both supportive and flexible, making you feel heard, understood, and empowered.

I believe healing is not created through behaviors alone and I take a holistic approach to psychotherapy. Together we will seek and explore themes, defenses, relational patterns, and unconscious beliefs that play a role in forming your world to help support healing and lasting change. My work is centered around you finding your voice, existential wonder, processing, and deepening your understanding of who you are. When in the presence of life’s complexities therapy can look like a depth-oriented approach blending somatic processing with psychodynamics.

Hi, I’m Bridget! I’m a therapist who believes that growth doesn’t always have to look perfect. Sometimes it looks like a messy middle chapter, a plot twist, or learning how to take off the “I-have-it-all-together” mask. My goal is to help you reconnect with your sense of self, find confidence in your voice, and navigate life’s chaos with more calm and clarity (and maybe a little humor, too).
I work with college students and young women who feel stuck in anxiety, perfectionism, relationship patterns, burnout, or ADHD overwhelm.

I work with people who are feeling overwhelmed, disillusioned, or fearful about the current state of the country and the world. Perhaps the recent election or the ongoing climate crisis, combined with the stress you are carrying in your personal life, weigh heavily on you, leaving you feeling unsettled or even paralyzed by grief and anxiety. In our work together, we won’t pretend there are simple solutions—there rarely are. But I am deeply experienced in navigating through grief, panic, and the search for resilience in uncertain times. I offer a grounding space for you to explore these feelings.

FAQ - About Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
