My name is Iesha McLeod and I am a Licensed Psychologist (LP) based in Minnesota. I received my Doctorate from Albizu University-Miami and have been practicing for 8 years. I enjoy creating an atmosphere where clients can identify and become their true selves. It is my belief that sometimes experiences in life can taint one’s genuine self and cause them to develop defense mechanisms that prevent their true nature from being shared with the world. I have a passion for helping others navigate through life’s experiences and difficulties in order to embrace and nurture their true identity.

If you’re in search of an encouraging, welcoming, and comforting space to help guide you through the challenges life brings, I look forward to partnering with you on your journey. I work with individuals (ages 13+) and couples. I am passionate about working with individuals and couples in all stages of their infertility journey as well as those who are childless not by choice. Navigating this can be very overwhelming and can often feel isolating, so I hope to provide support, compassion, and a space to feel recognized and heard while processing through challenging emotions and decisions.

You might seem fine on the outside, keeping busy and holding it together, but inside you feel anxious in relationships, stuck in old family patterns, or constantly playing roles you did not choose. Life changes, loss, or grief may have left you wondering who you are now. You want to understand why these patterns repeat, feel more grounded, and create relationships and a life that actually fit. If you are ready to explore this and show up differently, this is the place to do it.

As a therapist, I am committed to being a source of unconditional positive regard, asking hard and important questions, offering observations to identify connections in experiences, exploring and challenging negative self-beliefs, offering tools and skills in the capacity desired, and celebrating the ups and the downs of the process. I believe human growth, change, and healing is most easily found when we allow ourselves the chance to be uncomfortable. I am a Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy Practitioner and have found it to be an incredible tool for increasing healing with life’s big and small difficulties.

My approach as a support person, whether that be as a therapist or otherwise, is to be person-centered and client-driven. I have experience and knowledge with many modalities, like CBT, DBT, PCIT, and others, but ultimately, my expertise is meeting people where they are and going at the pace that feels right for their journey.

Often people come to therapy because they are feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure how to move forward. You might be struggling in your relationships, navigating a life transition, or just carrying more than you know what to do with. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to face it alone. I aim to create a space where you feel truly seen and supported. I will bring curiosity, compassion, and directness. I am here to really get to know you. Together, we’ll honor what has shaped you, while also gently interrupting patterns that may no longer be serving you.

Why did Waldo go to therapy? .............To find himself. Hey, there! My name is Christina, I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor as well as a Pre-Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has a passion for working with individuals. This passion comes from getting a front row seat into watching individuals become the best version of themselves, and watch as they take the control back of their life. Do you ever feel that you’ve let your emotions dictate your outlook? Have these emotions impacted your relationships with others? Do you often wish you could learn to manage conflict in a more of a constructive way?

I am currently in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, others.
You take your responsibilities seriously and want to be more present for your life and family. You’re likely a motivated professional, parent, or partner who is looking for a collaborative, structured space to turn insight into action. You aren’t looking for a passive listener; you’re looking for a partner who respects your intelligence and offers a clear, logical framework for change. In our work together, we function like a practical seminar for your life. We look at the "mechanics" of how you respond to stress, overthinking, and the mental overload that comes with carrying significant responsibility.

I take a warm, curious approach to understanding you and the roots of your suffering. Together, we’ll explore not only what you’re experiencing, but why, so you can better understand yourself and navigate your life with more clarity and confidence. I’m a natural “dot connector”—almost forensic in how I help piece together the ways your history, relationships, beliefs, and experiences intersect and shape the present.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
