Men's Issues Therapists in Saint Paul, MN
Life is an amazing journey ... but it can be hard, and present challenges that leave us feeling vulnerable, uncertain and off-balance (not ourselves). Life/Work Psychotherapy was created to give adults a safe space to talk about relationship + work issues, and the painful feelings that go along with them. With over 30 years of experience, I take a collaborative approach to exploring options for greater satisfaction, success and peace of mind. I acknowledge how unique our lived experiences are, and seek to understand every individual in the context of these experiences.

Men's Issues: Career issues, disconnect from emotions, erectile dysfunction, family relationship issues, romantic relationship struggles, and struggles with a world that values toxic masculinity
Levi enjoys working with teens, emerging adults, adults, & in small groups. He puts an emphasis on emotional growth, relational depth, interpersonal skill-building, and creative self-expression. Those who seek deeper connection, emotional insight, and stronger relationships in their personal and professional domains tend to do well when working with Levi. My approach to therapy is nonjudgmental, inclusive, and deeply person-centered. I believe healing begins when we feel fully seen and understood. I work with teens, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years as a Christian pastor. Though I no longer identify as religious, this experience helps me connect with people from a wide range of spiritual and faith backgrounds—including those who are deconstructing, spiritually curious, or healing from religious trauma. I create a space where your story, values, and sense of meaning are respected.

The men I work with care deeply about their relationships. They want to be steady, reliable, emotionally present partners. But no one ever taught them how to do that. They were raised to provide, protect, and stay composed. Now they’re being asked for emotional openness, honest communication, and vulnerability—and they’re trying to figure out how to meet those expectations without shutting down or getting angry.
If you’ve ever thought, I want to be a better partner, but I don’t know where to start, you’re in the right place.

There’s a lot in life we can’t control, but your power to make change is greater than you think. I offer a welcoming space to discuss life’s big questions or steps toward your goals. If you’re boxed in by work pressures, school stress, relationship issues, or harmful habits, let’s build a plan for change. If anger or anxiety are causing actions that don’t match your values, let’s draft a map for navigating hard moments.

My ideal client is used to figuring things out on their own (often a man), who feels stuck or disconnected, especially in relationships or during major life changes. You've done what you were "supposed to" - put in the work, kept it together, showed up for others. But something still isn’t clicking. Even with a solid career or stable circumstances, something feels off. You’re looking for clarity, meaning, and more honest connection, or you’re stuck in questions you can’t think your way out of. I thrive in work with adults who are high-functioning on the outside but feel disconnected, stuck, or unsure of what’s next.

The world can be an overwhelming place. No matter what you have been through or are currently experiencing, I believe that when you feel fully accepted and appreciated for who you are at your core, that is when growth and change can occur. I strive to create a warm and genuine environment where you, as the client, feel safe to explore who you are as a person and how you want to show up in the world. I value connection and want to see my clients succeed in life, however that may look to each unique individual.

My background includes working with individuals suffering from PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, as well as chemically dependent populations. With that being said, I am willing to work alongside anyone looking for a support or to make a change in their life. I have more clinical experience working with adolescent individuals and adult males, but am open to working with a more diverse range of ages, genders, and background

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
