As a parent, watching your child struggle with self-confidence, motivation, or relationships can feel overwhelming. You might feel lost in the maze of service options, unsure of where to turn when nothing seems to be working. Or, as an adult, you may have always felt different—wondering why things like socializing or managing daily tasks seem to come naturally to others but not to you. As a neurodivergent psychologist, and parent of two neurodivergent children, I understand, and I’m here to help.

You’re a high-achiever running on empty or a parent watching your kid struggle to navigate school, friendships, and the pressure to "fit in." Life feels like a constant performance. Whether it's the grind of a classroom that doesn't click, friction in your relationships, or the crushing weight of burnout, you're exhausted. You want more than just "coping"—you want a manual for your specific life. You might be navigating ADHD, Autism, or LGBTQ+ identity, or maybe you’re the "gifted kid" who finally hit a wall. You want to stop performing and start living with tools that actually work for you.

Do you notice that your child feels lost, lonely, anxious and/or disconnected? Are you ready for them to find growth. connection, and resilience? I am passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults. I find the uniqueness of each client to be an asset in their resilience, growth, and healing. I believe in the quote "Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely." It brings up the circumstances as a fact, but also the power to create change in how we look at it and mindfully grow from our experiences. Your child can achieve this too!

I believe therapy can be a malleable space that meets clients where they are at and continues to take shape alongside them as they grow. I seek to co-create a space with clients that is flexible to their individual needs as they move through various life stages. I am a collaborative therapist, and believe in following my client’s lead and their expertise. It is important to me to play to people's strengths, develop skills that facilitate growth, and honor the autonomy of my clients and their goals. I use a multicultural systematic lens to view how clients’ lived experiences are impacted by identity and social structures.

Taking the first step can feel uncertain, but you don't have to do it alone. In our work together, I will create a supportive and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences openly and without judgement. My role is to partner with you in discovering clarity, identifying your inner strengths and resources, and helping you build a deeper sense of meaning and purpose that feels authentic and meaningful to you. You may not have the answers right away on your first day in therapy and that's ok- you will uncover them at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering.

Therapy often involves addressing low self-esteem, learning differences, anxiety, and addictions.
My goal is to help children, adolescents, and young adults navigate their specific challenges and find their unique areas of brilliance. I have practiced as a psychologist for over twenty years. Most of my work has involved supporting children, adolescents, parents, young-adults, and their families. I also have ADHD, which helps me understand my clients. Over the years, I have worked in several hospital settings and community mental health clinics. In 2019, I founded ADHD&U after writing a book about raising my own son with ADHD.

How effective is treatment for learning disabilities?
When initiated early and tailored to a child’s specific needs, learning disability treatment can be quite effective at helping a child cope with their disability, though its exact efficacy may depend on the severity of symptoms and whether comorbid disorders exist. Less is known about treatment initiated in adulthood, but it is certainly possible that an adult with a learning disability will see some improvement—or at the very least, identify workarounds and accommodations that could make symptoms less burdensome in day-to-day life.

When should someone seek treatment for learning disabilities?
It’s best to seek treatment as early as possible. Because learning disabilities often go unnoticed until a child starts school, or even until they’re a few years along, regular check-ins with teachers and doctors can help parents determine whether children are meeting milestones and keeping up with peers or whether an evaluation for learning disabilities may be warranted. And although earlier is always better, it’s never too late to be evaluated for learning disabilities and to seek treatment.

What happens if learning disabilities are left untreated?
Undiagnosed and untreated learning disabilities can be a source of significant frustration and shame for a child, who may feel that their challenges stem from a lack of intelligence or willpower. Such feelings can trigger low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety, which may push a child toward risky behaviors, including substance use. In adulthood, untreated learning disabilities can interfere with career success, and lingering feelings of self-doubt and shame can negatively affect someone’s mental health.

Are there medications for learning disabilities?
Currently, there are no medications designed to treat specific learning disabilities such as dysgraphia or dyscalculia. However, someone with a learning disability may be prescribed medication for a comorbid condition, such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD, which may have positive downstream effects on their learning disability; for example, a child with both ADHD and dyslexia may find that they’re better able to focus on their reading exercises after being prescribed a stimulant medication.
