Jungian psychology is forward looking and may elucidate the way through difficult transition.
Jungian analysis is the work of Individuation, developing more complete engagement of the full person. One finds greater range of choice, and personal expression, then a person is more fully engaged with people and work, and welcomes greater responsibility. Personal values define the way and remain involved in relationships.

Being a human can be incredibly difficult and overwhelming at times. Having someone you feel safe to process life’s stressors with, and an open space to learn new ways to cope with stress, can help make life more manageable and enjoyable. I have a client-centered, strength-based approach to therapy, and I believe that every person deserves to be seen and understood. I look forward to supporting you in your journey of healing and growth - however that looks for you!

If you are struggling with relationships, mood, self-doubt, or anxiety, I would love to get to know you and together take a careful look at what is causing your pain. I study psychodynamic therapy, which is focused on getting to the root of issues rather than just a quick fix of a few coping strategies. My hope is that even in the first few meetings you will feel something new, something hopeful, or confront something difficult that has been hidden in the background. I have worked with different kinds of people as a newer therapist. I have found particular success with young men who need someone to process relationship issues with.

From the outside, you appear capable, accomplished, and composed. Internally, it’s a different story. Your mind rarely slows down. You replay conversations, anticipate worst-case scenarios, and avoid situations where you might feel exposed or judged. You don’t want surface-level coping strategies. You want meaningful, lasting change. I work with high-performing adults who value discretion, depth, and results. Therapy with me is not passive or open-ended. It is focused, strategic, and tailored to individuals who are ready to actively engage in the work of change.

Navigating life is uniquely difficult when you are autistic, carry trauma, or are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. If you feel like you're constantly fighting for acceptance or masking who you are, I can help. Whether it’s having an invisible disability, not being able to trust others, or fighting for acceptance, the ability to navigate life can be challenging. There’s hope. Together we will work through the stories you’ve been taught, the expectations you’ve had to meet, and the experiences that brought you further and further from yourself.

Growing up can be a hard won struggle. Learning to run your own life requires commitment and discipline. Create authentic relationships and satisfying work, expand a sense of inner guidance, and sharpen your purpose. I work with both men and women, however, my work with men has been especially gratifying. My experiences have shown they are capable, driven, compassionate and focused. They care deeply about their relationships and work and desire self-improvement and expertise in their lives.

I am a Counseling Psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist with a special interest in helping artists, writers, actors, musicians and creatives of all types achieve their full potential. I am also interested in working with men around issues of fatherhood, masculinity, and relationships. Broadly speaking, I'm interested in helping you bring a light to bear on the unconscious, to develop insight into stuck patterns of behavior and ways or relating to self and others. I believe the statement - "the function of language is not to inform, but to evoke!".

If you are searching for meaning in your life, appreciate a good metaphor, and are looking for a different approach to therapy that doesn't focus on a diagnosis, I might be a good fit for you. Looking for an approach that connects you to your ancestors and the cycles of the earth? Like to paint, draw, or otherwise engage your creative side? Enjoy being outdoors? Feel better after laughing, singing, or moving your body? Been told you are too much, don't conform, are non-compliant, or you're a weirdo? I'm here to help you embrace who you are, in all your beauty and difficulty..

Addiction and its accompanying issues make life a struggle for both the client and for those who love them. Those in active addiction intuitively know there is a gap between the life they're demonstrating and the possibilities their potential affords - if they could only get out of their own way. My methods promote profound fundamental change: the shedding of self-destructive attributes, the definition of a clear, compelling vision for the future, and the tools clients need to implement strategies that will enable them to become the best possible version of themselves.

Couples I work with often feel trapped in constant arguments, shutdowns, or resentment, even though they still care about each other. Many are in Black Mountain or Asheville and may have tried counseling before without real change. They want structure, honesty, and practical tools to slow fights down, take responsibility, rebuild trust, and communicate without hurting each other. They’re ready to move from constant conflict back to respect, teamwork, and daily connection.

Jungian Therapists
How does Jungian therapy work?
Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?
Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?
According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?
Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
