We do therapy because it works. We develop treatment programs in collaboration with each individual. They are designed to be flexible and travel well into your life outside the therapy room. Treatment focuses on alleviating suffering and increasing your connection with what’s important in your life. The spirit of our approach is active and genuine. We embrace imperfection as a natural state of being and view mistakes as portals for learning. We regard humor and humility as invaluable tools and use them to change our perspectives.

I provide both in-person and telehealth therapeutic services.
Many of my clients describe living in extremes—feeling everything all at once or shutting it down to survive. Some carry the scars of abuse, some face the chaos of Borderline Personality Disorder, and others feel like outsiders navigating life in a new country. Wherever you begin, you don’t have to figure it out alone. As a DBT-trained and state-certified clinician, I bring both structure and compassion to the work. We focus on skills—because skills give you footing. But I also know skills aren’t enough if you feel unheard, so we go deeper. We look at the patterns, the pain, and the meaning underneath.

I offer the majority of my individual sessions in-person, however, virtual meetings are always an option!
What does a life worth living look like for you? This can be a challenging question—because, let’s face it, life is hard. My goal is to help you hold the reality of life’s challenges while also supporting you in building a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.
Throughout this process, we as humans tend to realize that barriers to change are real. Whether it's due to internal factors (i.e., overwhelming thoughts, difficult emotions, maladaptive behaviors), external factors (i.e., work stressors, relationship concerns, other life demands), or a combination of both, we’ll explore them together and find a path forward.

Additionally, I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of trauma and PTSD. I believe in providing a safe and welcoming environment that allows individuals to effectively manage their lives and reach their highest potential.

I offer in-person and virtual sessions Monday through Friday in beautiful Crocus Hill, among the Victorian homes and towering elm trees.
We might be a fit if:
You are fed up with the role you’ve been given in your family.
You are new to Minnesota and struggling to feel a sense of belonging.
You have lost someone you dearly loved and need a safe place to talk.
You are navigating transitions in your life and feeling overwhelmed or untethered.
I am authentic, funny, gentle, and direct — a “real person,” my clients like to say. I love British comedies and mysteries, reading, being by the water, good food, travel, the beauty of other cultures, and doing nothing.
Do you need someone to stand in power with you? I will stand with you.

Sometimes life quietly drifts off course, and we find ourselves feeling lost, stuck, or unsure how we got here. Many people come to therapy during times of change in career, relationships, or after experiencing loss. Others struggle with emotional or psychological distress that makes it hard to live fully. I work with individuals who feel caught in negative thinking patterns, self-criticism, or the pressure to meet others’ expectations. I offer a supportive space to explore your experiences and reconnect with yourself, integrating mindfulness, breathing, meditation, and gentle movement to cultivate greater calm, awareness, and ease.

I enjoy working with older adolescents and young adults (17-27) that have intense emotions, struggle with relationships, communication, and managing urges/impulsivity. I have a passion for DBT and love teaching to increase skillfulness in areas of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Building a life you like when in pain isn't easy… and you can do hard things! I want to help you build the life you want—whatever that is. "People underestimate their capacity for change. There is never a right time to do a difficult thing". -John Porter

I work with clients who feel everything deeply—and sometimes wish they didn’t. Many describe their inner world as intense, confusing, or exhausting. They’re thoughtful, capable people who appear composed while often feeling overwhelmed within. Whether it’s depression that lingers, anxiety that won’t quiet, anger that erupts, or emotional numbness that disconnects you, I help you understand what your emotions are communicating rather than letting them dictate your thoughts, behavior, or relationships. My style is warm, curious, and collaborative, grounded in evidence-based strategies that build resilience, balance, and self-trust

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.
When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.
How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
