In Person Therapists in Merrlam Park, Saint Paul, MN
I have been in private practice since 1991 and have previously worked in medical, rehabilitation, college counseling, and community mental health settings.
I know that asking for help is not easy. Trusting someone you don't know with very personal information requires a leap of faith. Understandably, you may want to know what to expect, should you decide to work with me.
Initially, I will work to identify the particular issues that you want to address and then collaborate with you to develop goals and strategies. Throughout the process, I will listen carefully, drawing out particular material for discussion and presenting new information to help you see yourself and your choices with a new perspective. I will suggest possible courses of action, recognizing that only you can decide whether to follow any suggestions that come from the counseling process.

I believe therapy can be a malleable space that meets clients where they are at and
continues to take shape alongside them as they grow. I seek to co-create a space with clients that is flexible to their individual needs as they move through various life stages. I am a collaborative therapist, and believe in following my client’s lead and their expertise. It is important to me to play to people's strengths, develop skills that facilitate growth, and honor the autonomy of my clients and their goals. I use a multicultural systematic lens to view how clients’ lived experiences are impacted by identity and social structures.

With more than a decade of experience in hospitals, clinics, and private practice, I am guided by the belief that there is more that’s right with people, than is wrong with people. There is much about the way we live that contributes to the feeling of disconnection and destabilization that so many of us feel. And yet, few of us were ever taught the skills to navigate the seemingly simple (but actually pretty complex) worlds that we live in.

Primarily working with adults and older adolescents; in person or tele-health offered.
Emotional wellness starts with learning how to be mindful and present within your own life. Opening up and asking for support isn't easy; I can certainly empathize. In the past, I prided myself on solving things on my own, which I thought was "healthy emotional independence." However, throughout my experiences and struggles, I found clearer insight and more strength having an ally to open up to, an objective individual to gain perspective. It's nice to have a champion AND a challenger to help through life's curveballs. I would be honored to accompany and provide support on the path toward the best version of you

Update: limited spots available- Hello! Asking for help and finding a therapist is not an easy process and I am so glad you’re here.
You may be feeling like your thoughts, experiences, and emotions are too much or too painful and you deserve a nonjudgmental space to be heard. You may also feel like your relationships, school/work, sense of self, and home life are being negatively impacted by how you feel inside and you want to figure out why you're feeling this way. So, if the ways in which you've learned to keep yourself safe so far aren't working as well as they used to and you're ready for change, let's talk about it.
