Life often feels heavy when you’re doing everything you can to hold it together. Anxiety, shame, disconnection, or burnout can build slowly until they demand attention. I work with men who are ready to face what’s beneath the surface—to find clarity, purpose, and genuine connection in their lives and relationships.

My main therapeutic treatment approach is to use CBT to help clients change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, parts work to explore and heal different aspects of the self, and Gestalt therapy to deepen awareness in the present moment.
As a therapist, I bring a warm, collaborative, and individualized approach to every session. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, offering a supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with curiosity and compassion. My goal is to help individuals develop greater self-awareness, build healthy emotional regulation skills, and grow into the best version of themselves.

Unresolved trauma and chronic stress can quietly shape emotional regulation, relationships, and sense of self. I provide specialized psychotherapy for adults and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, relational distress, caregiving strain, and major life transitions. Clients often present with patterns in which past experiences continue to influence present-day emotions, body responses, and relational dynamics. My reason for being a counselor is to help people understand and heal from their past and/or current pain and to learn coping strategies to manage future pain. People and relationships can be complex and full of both positive and negative emotions, including some that are painful. The ability to feel them, learn from them, and express them to others allows us to live more engaged and meaningful lives. It is rewarding to be able to support people as they go through the process of self-exploration.

I use Emotion Focused Therapy, Focusing, Person-centered, Mindfulness, Strengths-based, Process-based and Gestalt therapy.
You might feel like you’ve been running on empty—emotionally, spiritually, or relationally. Maybe you’re navigating a season of change, carrying the weight of unprocessed trauma, or feeling the pressure of being strong for others while quietly unraveling inside. Perhaps your cross-cultural background or ministry work has left you feeling misunderstood or out of place. You long for clarity, peace, and a sense of purpose again—to feel whole, connected, and free.

After experiencing a devastating series of personal, relational, occupational, family, social, and spiritual obstacles in my life, my self-talk was often self-defeating. I was discontent, lacking purposeful, meaningful contact with others, and felt empty inside instead of accepting my reality and the changing interactions between the environment, others, and myself. I was caught between staying the same and recognizing and embracing change. Whether you are in a time of transition or a time of pain, I believe we all have the tools we need to walk toward a loving and meaningful life.

Therapy is a place for an individual to intentionally explore their experiences with the support of a therapist who aspires to promote healing and well-being. My work is centered around clients finding their voice, existential wonder, further developing their sense of self & feeling secure in who they are. Life holds opportunity and challenge, stagnation and growth, loss and meaning. I view the therapeutic relationship as a dynamic space where unconscious patterns can be explored, pain points understood, and goals clarified. If you’re seeking clarity, healing, or a deeper connection to yourself, I am here to walk with you.

I enjoy meeting with individuals (to better understand and manage the emotions, behaviors, and relationships that sometimes make life difficult), couples (to discuss challenges that arise while providing support and tools necessary to re-establish a healthy partnership), and families (identify patterns to assist family's to improve communication, thrive in tough situations, and feel more stable and supported). I utilize evidence-based approaches during sessions to best meet each client’s individual needs.

My ideal client is someone who is curious about themself, who is ready to explore themself and their inner world. They struggle with deep wounds and are ready to face them with honesty and sarcasm. They’re seeking accompaniment on their journey to understanding and healing, and guidance through patterns that no longer serve them.

I want to help you heal, grow, and thrive in your life. I know you are tired of being in pain and want the stress (and the ways it's impacting your life) to end. I want that for you, too. I believe each person has inner strengths and resources, but we sometimes lose touch with them. I want to help you reconnect with those strengths, build new strategies that work in your life, as well as increase your resilience and find ways to thrive.

Gestalt Therapists
What is gestalt therapy?
Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that to address unresolved negative feelings, emotions must be not only discussed but also actively expressed in the present moment. The term is from a German word meaning “whole,” and gestalt therapists believe that people should be considered whole entities made up of mind, body, and emotions. Gestalt sessions are rooted in the notion that a client’s total self must be discovered, explored, and confronted, so that they can take greater responsibility for themselves and their behavior, learn to satisfy their own needs while still respecting the needs of others, and reconnect with feelings they might otherwise deny.

How does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy sessions do not just involve talking with a therapist. Clients may take part in role-playing, re-enactment, or artistic exercises like drawing and painting, with the goal of becoming more aware of negative thought patterns that limit happiness. One common gestalt exercise is “the empty chair,” in which a client sits across from an empty chair representing a partner, relative, boss, or a part of themselves—and, with the therapist’s encouragement, improvises a dialog with it. The intention is to bring the emotions raised by past conflicts into the present and work through them in the moment.

How long does gestalt therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for gestalt therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. New patients should understand that it may take some time to become comfortable with gestalt exercises but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions.

Does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy has generally been found to be as effective as other forms of talk therapy in helping people living with anxiety, depression, phobias, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders, as well as helping individuals reduce conflict in relationships. Gestalt techniques, on their own or in combination with other therapies, can also be effective in managing physical ailments including ulcerative colitis, migraines, and back spasms. It should be noted that some people may have trouble adapting to gestalt therapy’s lack of formal structure or to a therapist’s close observations of their body language and emotions; others may struggle to commit to techniques that feel unnatural, like the empty chair exercise.
