You don’t have to carry everything on your own anymore. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, or life stress, we can slow things down together and make sense of what you’ve been through. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand or are tired of just “getting by” and want to feel like themselves again.

Welcome! I create a warm and relaxed environment for my clients. They come to discuss distress and may leave with a laugh and a smile. I describe my style as feeling like you're talking to your best friend who has the education to back up what they are suggesting.

The world can feel like a lonely place when you struggle with feelings of anxiety and depression. Maybe what you are feeling can’t be explained and no one knows how you feel. People have told you to "just get over" things that have hurt you or to suck it up when you feel low. Maybe you were never taught how to express the way you feel emotionally and if you did, you were dismissed. If this is the case, know you are not alone there are people out there that feel the same as you do. There is hope in therapy. There is a safe place to be validated to be heard.

Life may look good out on outside —a job or a career, solid relationships, a family maybe, and a circle of friends. But on the inside, things might feel different. Perhaps you find yourself feeling unfulfilled, stuck in recurring emotional struggles, or disconnected from the people and moments that matter most to you. Maybe you feel weighed down by comparisons, regrets, grief, or the constant push to do more, leaving you unable to pause and appreciate your progress. No matter how hard you work or how much you give, there’s a sense that it’s still not enough.

I have been in the counseling and psychology field for the past 20+ years. I know that it is difficult to ask for help. However, people sometimes need additional support beyond their family and friends. I work with, adults and adolescents that experience low self-esteem, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, addiction, trauma, and have trouble regulating their emotions. If you are a parent looking for services for your child, I am a registered play therapist and I will work with your child to resolve fears, worries, sadness, and build healthy esteem and assist you in providing on-going support to your child.

Seeking support can be a nerve-wracking experience, but with the right provider it doesn’t have to be. I am a doctoral-level psychologist dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered care to people of all ages. I have over 15 years of experience using a variety of therapeutic styles to meet the individual needs of each client, couple, or family I treat. While I utilize evidence-based treatments including EMDR, CBT, IFS, and DBT therapies, I strongly believe that treatment must be tailored to each client’s needs. I also believe that a strong, supportive therapeutic relationship with one’s provider is the key to success.

I am a firm believer of the client being behind the wheel on their therapeutic journey while I am there, passenger side, as the navigator providing guidance. I meet my patients where they are at and build off of their strengths to increase their self-esteem, knowledge, and well-being. The client-counselor relationship is very important to me, and I do my best to create a space where guards can be let down and vulnerability is welcomed through a person-centered approach.

Providing a safe space to explore and express emotions is important for the client’s development and course of treatment. I meet the clients where they are at and utilize therapeutic art, toys, and games. The modalities I use are Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based interventions, and mindfulness. It is important to tailor interventions to the client’s goals and to develop skills to become empowered to continue on a journey towards healing and creating positive changes.

I believe healing happens when you feel truly seen, known, and supported. Many of my clients come to therapy carrying worry, stress, or exhaustion—whether from academic pressure, relationship stressors, life transitions, pregnancy shifts, or the realities of early motherhood. Others come because they’re tired of perfectionism, people-pleasing, or feeling like they have to hold everything together for everyone else. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling more grounded, more hopeful, and more connected to the person you hope to be.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
