I am also trained in the powerfully effective trauma modality Brainspotting.
We are all wired for connection. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples cultivate the intimacy for which they long. I believe that no matter how destructive behaviors may seem in couples and families, they typically represent people’s sincere efforts to achieve safety and satisfaction in their relationships. As a strengths-based therapist, I know that all individuals have capabilities and internal resources that can be utilized to facilitate growth and fulfilling connection. My work utilizes a psychobiological, trauma-informed attachment lens to cultivate relational and individual health.

I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, certified in trauma modalities such as EMDR, brainspotting and hypnotherapy.
Albert Einstein remarked, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”. At various times in our life we find ourselves challenged to do just that as we struggle to make it through the day. Using a strengths-based perspective, I will collaborate with you to understand and confront your unique challenges and empower you to find the inner strength and resources to facilitate positive healing change so you can keep moving forward. I firmly believe that while change is inevitable, being paralyzed by change is not and you have the power to construct your own unique pathway to optimal health and wellness.

I am trained in Brainspotting and use my background as a yoga instructor to incorporate somatic approaches in my work as well.
Are you wanting to go beyond "just getting by" or managing symptoms into deeper healing? I often work with people who want to go deeper than the surface and create lasting change for themselves, their lives, and the world. My practice focuses on creating a warm and welcoming environment that encourages you to bring your full self. I have a deep respect for the therapeutic process and feel privileged to walk beside you on your journey. Slowing down and allowing space for whatever is present is not something we are often encouraged to do in our day-to-day lives, and I believe it is paramount to healing.

I draw from a range of evidence-based and experiential therapies, including ERP, I-CBT, ComB, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing.
Even in the quiet moments, your mind stays busy. You've always been the one who steps up when others need help. You take your responsibilities seriously and do your best to hold things together when challenges arise. But carrying so much for so long comes at a cost. The worry and mental load may be taking a toll, and those closest to you may be starting to notice. Maybe you're caring for an aging parent, worried about an adult child whose life isn't unfolding as hoped, or exhausted from being the one everyone depends on. You know how to push through, but what used to work isn't working anymore.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
