While I specialize in life transitions, trauma and PTSD, and men's issues, I also support clients facing anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles.
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected? You don't have to go through it alone. I offer a supportive, collaborative space for adults who want to understand themselves more deeply, navigate life transitions, and build resources to thrive. In our work together, we'll explore your story, identify patterns that keep you stuck, and develop sustainable tools that align with your values and goals. I pull from evidenced-based strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while also integrating existential and humanistic principles. Focusing on meaning, choice, and self-awareness.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your head, or frustrated in your relationships, you’re not alone. Many of the adults I work with are busy parents and professionals who carry a lot of responsibility and pressure. On the outside, things may look fine. Internally, it feels heavier than it should, and hard to slow down or make sense of what you’re feeling.

As a therapist at River Bluff Mental Health, I work with individuals ages 11 and older, either via telehealth or in- person, who may be experiencing challenges related to mental health, addiction, identity development, or life transitions. Many of the clients I support are navigating feelings of uncertainty, overwhelm, or disconnection as they try to better understand themselves and their experiences. They may be looking for a safe place where they can talk openly, feel heard, and explore what they are going through without fear of judgment.

I take a casual, direct approach to therapy—because meaningful work doesn’t require a formal or overly clinical space to be effective. In my office there’s room for honesty, real conversation, and (dark) humor! My style is compassionate, honest, and focused on helping you make meaningful, practical changes while maintaining self-compassion and self-respect. My work is rooted in helping clients process and move past trauma, build insight, increase flexibility in how they respond to challenges, let go of old patterns and move forward with greater clarity, resilience and effectiveness.

Many of my clients describe feeling like they’re going through the motions of life, questioning who they truly are, or struggling to feel worthy of love and belonging. Some overextend for others or use substances to ease emotional pain. My role is to help you understand and transform those patterns with compassion and curiosity. I believe most symptoms—like depression, anxiety, emptiness, or disconnection—are signals pointing toward unhealed wounds, often from earlier life experiences. Together, we’ll use those symptoms as guides, working to reach and heal the root causes rather than simply manage the surface.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
