Investing in yourself is crucial. Life's busyness often leads to neglecting our personal growth. You may have prioritized others to the point of depleting your own reserves. When inevitable issues arise, it can feel overwhelming. However, it doesn't need to be this way. Focusing on self-improvement can actually make you more present for those you care about. Therapy is a commitment to invest time, energy, and resources into bettering your life, moving you out of constant crisis mode. By working together, you'll find that while daily demands remain the same, your ability to handle them improves, reducing life's stress.

I understand that therapy doesn't have to be a life-long process but it can help significantly when you are going through difficult circumstances that create worry, anger or a feeling of being at a loss. Stress seems to be an indicator that issues need to be addressed. I am a therapist who believes that my clients have many of the answers to their problems, I am there to help them through the journey to uncover what the answers are.

But, if you're struggling with anything in life - from work stress to family relationships, childhood trauma or shame, diagnosed mood disorders, addictions of any kind - you owe it to yourself to try to move toward that light.
I'm known for being authentic and empathic, but also for bringing some tough love. I firmly believe that we all have the innate strength to overcome life's obstacles. Sometimes that strength just needs a little guidance to be teased out. My stance is holistic, the approach steeped in Mindfulness, nutrition, DBT/CBT/REBT, and Solution-Focused therapy.

I’m a relational therapist who works with young children, parents, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and relationship challenges.
With children, I use Somatic Experiential Play Therapy, which meets them in their natural language of play. This approach allows children to express and process what’s difficult, even when they don’t yet have the words. I also work closely with caregivers, supporting you in understanding your child and building connection and regulation outside of sessions.

If you have addictions, whether it be alcohol, drugs, gambling, or relationships, as you tightly grasp therapy, the addictions will lose their grip on you!
For the clients who suffer repeated bouts of depression, anxiety, and addictions, I would do a thorough investigation of their treatment history and find out the missing link in their treatment process, and the mismatch between treatment method and personality. Your family doctor prescribes medicine according to the diagnosis and your weight.

New clients often say "I don't have energy", "I can't seem to stop thinking about everything", "I don't know what's wrong with me" and "I don't know what to do". What I am here to do is teach how those responses are not only "normal", but how to navigate to where they want to be with a science-based approach. My interest is working with adults and teens by providing education and solutions to barriers in their daily lives. Working in the helping field since 1996 and being exposed to many barriers my clients face, I enjoy navigating solutions to positive mental health.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
