Brainspotting Therapists in Oakdale, MN
Since becoming a therapist, I have acquired the following training and certifications: EMDR trained, Brainspotting Certified and play therapy.
I specialize in working with the LGBT+ community, people who identify as neurodivergent, those with trauma and relationship issues (queer, ENM, Kink etc. I don't work with CIS, straight couples). I have a passion for supporting trans identifying clients as they advocate for their needs within the medical system, supporting clients navigating open relationships, and supporting parents who are navigating the needs of their neurodivergent children. I practice from a sex positive, health at every size, harm reduction lens. I ask my clients to show up as their authentic self and my clients can expect the same from me.

Brainspotting invites stress and trauma to resolve, gently and efficiently.
Keeping anxiety at bay is exhausting, while everyday stressors shoot fear throughout your body. You toss and turn at night only to face it all over again each morning. You want to enjoy life without so much internal noise, but aren’t sure where to turn. For some time now, you've known something needs to change, and traditional talk therapy has only gotten you so far. At this point, you know chronic anxiety isn't going away on its own.

I believe people are doing the best they can with what they know and have experienced. Therapy begins with curiosity—not judgment—especially with ADHD symptoms, Addiction, and Relationship struggles. Together we can look at what’s not working—patterns like distraction, impulsivity, compulsive use, or disconnection—and what can be added: skills, insight, or behavior change. I help with ADHD symptoms, quitting porn, Addiction, and improving Relationships. I trust your life can work for you again, and therapy is where we rediscover how. Licensure seeking supervisor approved LMFT.

I started in the mental health field because I believe that life is meant to be lived to the fullest. To do so, we need to address the things that are holding us back and preventing us from thriving. Through counseling, I will help you discover yourself and unpack the lies, beliefs, and pain that are keeping you stuck. Circumstances can be hard, but they don’t have to be. The sky is the limit when it comes to health, healing, and reaching your goals.

My clients are working to become self-love warriors, truth-seekers, and aliveness-pursuers! If that sounds like your journey also, I am here to support you. Maybe you can recall a past when you felt more alive, connected, grounded, lovable, and living in your truth. Maybe now your challenge is figuring out how to get back to that place. Or maybe you've never felt this way and you desperately want to learn how.

I primarily integrate Brainspotting, a brain- and body-based approach that supports processing trauma held beyond words.
Healing happens as we begin to process what our bodies have been holding. Trauma, grief, and painful experiences don’t just live in our thoughts—they live in our nervous system, relationships, and sense of self, often shaping patterns carried within families, communities, and across generations. As an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation, I am passionate about supporting Native clients and communities. My work is grounded in respect, cultural awareness, and a belief in the resilience carried across generations, while offering a collaborative, grounded, and deeply attuned space.

You don’t have to keep pushing through alone. Together, we’ll uncover the root causes, release what’s keeping you stuck, and create healthy coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and relational difficulties so you can feel grounded and calm.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.
Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.
How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.
How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
