I will be out of the office until Thursday, July 26th By reading this, you're already taking a step toward what you want. Maybe this is your first time, or you've had some difficult experiences in the past. Maybe your experiences were helpful and you're ready to take another step. Therapy is about relationship - my first goal is to create a safe space, open to all, free from judgement, where you can first build safety and support, and then move into learning, change and growth. I work with your values and beliefs to improve self-awareness, make the most of yourself and your life.

If you’re feeling emotionally exhausted, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or simply unsure of what you need—therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and begin again with intention. I work with clients navigating a wide range of life transitions and inner struggles—whether rooted in personal history, identity, relationships, or external pressures. Many of the people I support are college students, young adults, first-generation professionals, high-achieving students, or BIPOC individuals. They’re often juggling a lot—trying to grow, to show up for others, and to stay connected to who they are in the process.

You’ve tried to hold everything together, but inside you’re overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You want healing that goes deeper than coping skills—healing that transforms your relationships, your sense of self, and your future. I help individuals and couples move through trauma, rebuild trust, and create meaningful change. If you’re navigating life transitions, relationship struggles, or the pressures of young adulthood, you don’t have to do it alone. Healing is possible, and I’d be honored to walk with you.

Some seek therapy for answers, strategies, or relief from life's immediate challenges. Others bring deeper questions about themselves, meaning, purpose, and how to live more fully. If that resonates, you may find a good fit here. I offer both shorter-term therapy for stress, anxiety, and life transitions, and longer-term, presence-centered work that helps you discover and live from your depths. I welcome those navigating major life changes, as well as spiritual, religious, and contemplative seekers.

I integrate neuroscience-informed and holistic approaches into my work, helping clients understand the connections between the brain, body, and emotional well-being. My background in neuroscience informs how I conceptualize emotional experiences and behavior, and my lifelong involvement in horseback riding has shaped my appreciation for movement, connection, and the restorative aspects of nature, which I incorporate into my relational and embodied approach to care.

You're a reliable, high-achieving woman—someone who looks like they have it all together, but on the inside you are falling apart. You're dealing with a lot of stress, your worry keeps you up at night, and you find it hard to say nice things to yourself. You have big dreams and life goals, but somehow you can't quite keep up with day-to-day demands. Outside influences and pressure are bringing you down, you're procrastinating on important tasks, and avoidance has become your go-to coping mechanism.

Stress, overwhelm, burnout, restlessness, anxiety, exhaustion. So many of us are feeling these things at a heightened level due to world events, our fast-paced lifestyles, and constant connectivity and overstimulation. This can put the body in a perpetual state of high alert, never fully recovering or getting deep rest. I specialize in working with women who struggle with these issues. I have been there and can guide you to find your way back to your strength; to a sense of safety. I offer video sessions as well as nature-based therapy in person.

My ideal client is someone standing at a crossroads — feeling the weight of change and uncertain of what comes next. They may be navigating a significant life transition, whether that’s a career shift, a relationship change, an empty nest, or stepping into a new chapter they didn’t quite choose. They are learning to find their footing in a healthcare system that feels unfamiliar, perhaps managing a new diagnosis, supporting a loved one through illness, or reckoning with the evolving needs of their own aging body. They may be carrying grief, need a space where they feel safe enough to be honest, to slow down, and to begin healing.

I also work specifically with individuals struggling insomnia (though this is a newer area of focus for me).
All it takes is a simple call or an email to reach out to help, but I know that this can be one of the hardest parts. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, mood challenges, there can be some small changes to help you start feeling better. I combine Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills to help you accept the challenges you're going through, take actions to help them through the power of learning skills, small changes in the messages you give yourself, and mindfulness to stay in the moment and relax.

I help clients retrain the nervous system, improve sleep, reduce anxiety, and focus on values so they can feel calmer, more present, and more engaged in daily life.
Life is about living, not coping or managing symptoms. That is my mission: to help people get unstuck so they can live life again. I enjoy teaching individuals about psychology, the science behind it, and how it can help you live more fully. I tailor effective psychology treatments to each person’s unique needs. With intentional listening, I incorporate psychology, education, and skills into each conversation. I especially enjoy working with people who have complex health concerns or who have felt dismissed or judged in medical settings.

Accepting new clients for telehealth (online or phone therapy) with focus on stress, anxiety and sleep issues.
Many of us struggle with anxiety, stress, and trouble sleeping. We can find ourselves facing difficult life changes and transitions, experiencing difficult relationships, work problems, or issues related to aging and loss. It seems easy these days to feel anxious, discouraged and uncertain about the future. If you are experiencing any of the above concerns, therapy could help. Effective therapy can equip clients with the skills, self-confidence and resilience they can apply effectively to their present situation and also in the future when issues arise.

I enjoy helping people with a variety of problems including anxiety, depressed mood, relationship struggles, insomnia, and health problems including Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
In addition to providing individual psychotherapy, I have facilitated support groups, conducted research, taught courses at the University of Minnesota and trained other healthcare providers. These varied experiences have convinced me that psychological and physical health are intertwined; to heal, we must care for mind, body and spirit.

Do you find yourself holding it together on the outside while feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, or quietly self-critical on the inside? Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and deeply responsible, yet feel overwhelmed by pressure, overthinking, relationship stress, or the constant sense that they should be coping better than they are. You may be tired of managing everything alone and looking for therapy that helps you understand not just your symptoms, but the deeper patterns underneath them.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
