I will help you face your fears in a structured, supportive way that reduces anxiety’s grip over time through exposure therapy ( ERP).
Are you feeling stuck with the same old approach to talk therapy? Are you seeking a more sustainable, long‑term shift for your anxiety or OCD symptoms? Maybe you stepped away from therapy because, even though you felt heard, nothing seemed to change long-term. If you’re ready for a therapist who thinks outside the box—someone who will challenge you in meaningful ways while honoring your pace—you’re in the right place.

“Resilient.” This is a word I often use to describe clients I have the pleasure of working with in therapy, as I am struck by the human ability to cope with suffering. Yet, sometimes the ways we have learned to cope end up taking us further away from our values. I am passionate about helping my clients evaluate how past painful experiences might shape the way they are responding to their current concerns, to other people, and to their thoughts and emotions. When we have insight into where where our patterns come from, we can then decide whether they are still serving you. If not, we can try something new together.

I use Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide evidence-based treatment tailored to each client’s needs.
If you’re struggling with OCD, panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, or related concerns, you don’t have to face it alone. Anxiety and OCD have a way of latching onto the things we value most, often leading us to avoid the people, places, activities, and experiences that make life meaningful. Over time, this can leave you feeling stuck, isolated, and disconnected from the life you want to live. My goal is to help you break that cycle so you can move toward what’s important to you—not away from it.

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I also draw from other evidence-based therapies like Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP), ICBT, ART, ACT, and DBT.
Hi, I’m Stephanie Okash. If your mind feels like it’s always on—racing with thoughts, questioning every decision, and never giving you a moment of peace—you’re not alone. Maybe you constantly second-guess yourself, feel overwhelmed by the “what ifs,” or just wish you could turn your brain down for a bit. I get how exhausting that can be. I’m a therapist who works with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, and trauma. I know how vulnerable it can feel to open up to someone new. That’s why I focus on creating a space that’s warm, collaborative, and judgment-free—where you can show up exactly as you are.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
