My work with clients is rooted in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT is not for the faint-hearted! It is direct, evidence-based and it works. Are you or your child feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck? I work with children, parents, and families navigating high-conflict relationships, strained parent-child connections, and the life transitions that come with separation and divorce. My clients often arrive exhausted — stretched thin, worried about their kids, unsure where to turn. My background as a former elementary teacher, a mother, a divorced single parent, and now a grandmother shapes every session. Together, we slow down, build real skills for managing conflict, and make room for healing — for the adults and the kids.

Are you contemplating therapy? Asking yourself if you really need it? The decision to participate in therapy is very personal and rarely straightforward. The majority of clients I work with are competent, well-functioning individuals who are struggling in some way or are feeling dissatisfied, unhappy, or stuck. Whether it's regarding a past experience, your everyday life, your relationship, fears about the future, or something more devastating or extraordinary, therapy can help.

You'll come in, plop yourself down, and ask me to fix you. I'll say: "I cannot do that." "All right," you say, "then, what is the point?" I'll respond: "I can help you be curious."

Albert Einstein remarked, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”. At various times in our life we find ourselves challenged to do just that as we struggle to make it through the day. Using a strengths-based perspective, I will collaborate with you to understand and confront your unique challenges and empower you to find the inner strength and resources to facilitate positive healing change so you can keep moving forward. I firmly believe that while change is inevitable, being paralyzed by change is not and you have the power to construct your own unique pathway to optimal health and wellness.
