At BrainWorks, I provide neuropsychological assessment for individuals aged 4-100. Neuropsychological assessment is helpful for determining the underlying causes of difficulties with learning , focus/attention, memory, organization, comprehension, oral communication, impulsivity, etc. Neuropsychological testing helps properly diagnose issues like Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Attention Deficit Disorders, Nonverbal Learning Disability, Asperger's Syndrome, Auditory Processing Disorder, and Mixed Receptive-Expressive Language Disorder. Neuropsychological testing also identifies learning /cognitive-related issues such as slow processing speed, memory problems, language processing delays, executive dysfunction, and intellectual giftedness.

Sandra Streitman, Ph. D. is a clinical neuropsychologist with interest in neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders such as ADHD, OCD, learning disabilities, mood and anxiety disorders, and pervasive developmental (autism spectrum) disorders. She specializes in neuropsychology testing and evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. She integrates neurocognitive, emotional and behavioral aspects of these disorders in order help parents better understand and manage the behaviors. She also evaluates intellectually gifted children with accompanying learning and attention issues, and children with seizures, and traumatic brain injuries. She encourages early intervention for learning and attention disorders, the importance of multi-disciplinary collaboration, and neuropsychological evaluation of neurodevelopmental disorders.

It can be hard to know whether your child's struggles are because of poor organizational skills, issues with attention, a learning disability, or mood/anxiety difficulties. This is where I come in: giving you an accurate and nuanced understanding of what is going on and how to treat it. I provide comprehensive and individualized evaluation to help you understand your child's strengths and weaknesses, get to the "why" underneath, and sort out what is typical and what is cause for concern. As a former classroom teacher, I make practical recommendations that translate into your child being more academically successful immediately.

Francesca completed their Masters of Art’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Naropa University and is a pre-licensed professional. Francesca is also a passionate member and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Francesca has a foundation in mindfulness and meditation techniques and is available for both in-person and telehealth services. They utilize a Transpersonal therapy lens and incorporate elements of Gestalt and Art therapy, seeking to encourage each individual on their unique journey towards wellness.
