Life can feel overwhelming and hard to navigate on our own. It’s easy to get caught in cycles of overthinking, fear, and uncertainty. Therapy is not just a place to talk, it is a supportive space for insight and practical change. My goal is to help you better understand yourself and build tools that work in your daily life. I work with teens age 16+, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, stress and burnout, obsessive-compulsive concerns, life transitions, identity exploration, phobias, or relationship challenges. I offer culturally competent, trauma-informed, affirming care.

Life seems stuck in the same place. Inside it feels like rush hour traffic, so many thoughts, so many noises, it can be so hard to keep track. Your thoughts are not the kindest and feel scattered all over the place. Your emotions make it feel impossible to figure out the missing pieces. You’re trying to start new habits and make life changes, but you keep finding yourself back where you started. These messages from society and life creep in and it feels like there is something wrong with yourself and your brain. Here is the thing, there’s nothing wrong with you. Sometimes, we adapt in ways that work. Other times, it backfires.

Taking therapy outside into nature allows access to powerful resources to help you address your goals, increase emotional and physical well-being and promote healing and resilience. In this practice my colleagues and I meet outside year-round in the South Minneapolis area, walking along the creek or river, sitting under a favorite pine tree or on a bench by the lake, with the option of telehealth when the weather is unsafe or just too cold. My style is supportive, warm, playful and experiential. We can address attachment difficulties, emotional and behavioral regulation, stress, anxiety, depression, grief and trauma.

Thanks for stopping by, it’s so good to see you here! Beginning a healing journey can feel scary and overwhelming. Maybe something big happened. Maybe there were many “little” things that built up over time. Or maybe it’s hard to even put your experiences into words. Wherever you find yourself, you’ve already taken a meaningful first step by seeking support. I see my role as walking alongside you in your story, helping you navigate the twists and turns, gently holding space for the painful parts, and celebrating growth along the way.

Sometimes life feels heavy, messy, or out of control, and you just want a space where you can finally exhale. You might feel stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that keep repeating. Maybe emotions feel too big, your inner critic is loud, or the past keeps showing up in the present. You may struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, or self-doubt. Therapy can be a place to be seen, understood, and gently guided toward feeling more like yourself again.

When we feel stuck in life everything can feel difficult and like a battle; I believe there is no need to face issues alone. With a collaborative approach, I can help people better understand the life events that have shaped their view of the world. Every individual experiences events that can discourage us. My goal is to help highlight the unique strengths that lie within all of us. I strive to help children/adolescents, families, and adults to recognize the meaning they attach to life experiences. When we understand the meaning we attach to events, we better understand our choices.

I work with adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, ADHD, trauma, and life transitions. I also enjoy supporting parents. After years of working directly with children and families, I’ve come to deeply value the essential role parents play in shaping emotional development, family dynamics, and lasting change. I work with parents- both individually and as part of a couple — who are navigating the complex, often overwhelming demands of parenting, relationships, and personal growth.

I believe in the power of synergy! Collaborating together on your concerns, increases the potential for change. You are the expert of you and I am a facilitator of change. Together, we will work on an approach for moving through areas in your life where you feel stuck. Anxiety, depression, low self esteem or relationship challenges need a pro-active perspective. Identifying, eradicating and replacing your sources of pain with mindfulness and intentional balance will bring more joy into your life.

Telehealth only currently. Are you worried your problems are too big or too small? You have nothing to fear. Some of my clients have experienced the worst life has to offer, and need help to heal deep trauma wounds, others simply desire to rebuild relationships, parent better, or reduce anxiety, depression, or substance use. My clients come to therapy to address issues in their past that impact their relationships, their work, self image, or have led to unhealthy habits. I enjoy helping people to better understand themselves, set boundaries, realize goals, and improve their health and wellness through integrative approaches.

In my 30 plus years in a helping profession, I am still energized by the bravery and strength of clients and their struggles that life can create. It is my privilege to encourage clients to look at life and themselves from a more balanced and productive place. I facilitate this by active listening and a nonjudgmental stance. I meet clients where they are within their emotional process.

As Rumi says, “This being human is a guest house…” for joy, depression, awareness, meanness, shame as well as the peace or the chaos they can bring into our lives. They come as guides and often don’t leave us until they teach us what we need to learn. Learning to meet and face these guests head-on can require compassion, non-judgmental guidance, patience, support and to know that you are not alone in this human experience. I believe that everyone deserves a safe place to discover who they are. A place to be honest and to be vulnerable without fear or judgment.

Art Therapy of MN is a neurodivergent-affirming group practice, and most of our providers identify as being a part of the neurodivergent community themselves. Our art therapists and providers utilize a trauma-informed, inclusive, affirming lens of care. Being neurodivergent or within any marginalized group in our society can be chronically distressing, stigmatizing, discriminatory and traumatizing. Brains can be different, but they are not less.
