Sometimes life piles up - stress, pressure, expectations, uncertainty - and you’re left feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just not quite yourself. Whether you’re managing anxiety, exploring your identity, feeling burned out, or struggling to move forward, you don’t have to carry it all alone. I offer a non-judgmental space where things can slow down and start to make sense. Where you can speak freely, untangle what’s underneath the surface, and leave with new insights, language for your experience, and practical tools to feel more grounded, connected, and in control again.

As a teen, adult or parent, life can feel like a lot sometimes. Whether you’re in the messy middle of parenting, adjusting to a new chapter, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, grief, or burnout—you deserve a place to land. Maybe you’re trying your best to hold everything together, but it feels like there’s never enough time or energy left for you. That doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re human. You need a space to slow down, get curious about what’s working, and gently shift what’s not.

I work with both adults and adolescents in an individual capacity who are having difficulty understanding their emotional experience. I focus on providing insight into an individual's emotional experience by guiding them through understanding how their thoughts can influence emotions and lead to certain behaviors.

I often work with people who don't fit into neat boxes - professionally, emotionally, spiritually, or socially. You may be a creative person, deep thinker, perfectionist questioning "the script," or someone navigating intense emotions and big questions, like "How do I create a more purposeful life?"
Maybe you're processing a psychedelic journey, feeling stuck or dealing with a transition, or trying to change long-held patterns. You want to move beyond insight into action, relate to yourself and others in a deeper way instead of feeling disconnected, and learn how to live like you mean it.

It is my belief that the foundation of successful therapy lies in the relationship we build together. Healing happens in the context of trust, safety, and connection, and my priority is to create a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported. Therapy is not just about addressing symptoms—it’s about deepening your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the world around you so that you can break free from patterns that have kept you stuck and move toward a more fulfilling life. I began my career in 2013 working for the Air Force Special Operations Command, in support of Active-Duty Veterans and families.

Dr. Brings works with individuals who are experiencing stress from adverse life events and situations, are feeling stuck, lost, or unsure, about finding their way through the maze of life, or are simply caught up in the stress of being human. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, loneliness, self-defeating thoughts, feelings or behaviors, or impairments in personal, relational, educational, occupational or other important areas of functioning. They are seeking to understand these events, situations, and experiences, to rise above them, and to go forward with their lives, in health and wellness, to positive lives and futures.

It is a deep human desire to be seen, heard, loved and known. I am honored and humbled by my clients inviting me into their lives to witness their pain, struggles and perseverance. I am with my clients to empower and challenge them in their growth, healing and beauty. No matter the past or path that got them into the counseling room with me, my main focus is to partner with them to build a better future. Not a future to just feel better or make it to the next day or hope to have better relationship or to get over the past; but beyond. We work together as a team to flourish as a child of God, this side of Heaven.

Life is challenging in our ever evolving world. I believe you can improve your mental health by tackling these challenges directly. Life transitions (grief, trauma, medical concerns, aging, retirement, divorce, parenthood, employment, and emerging adulthood) are highly stressful. You don't need to navigate these alone. Many clients find my approach results in significant change in 3-4 months. I can help you find balance and meaning by examining your choices and values. Clients often tell me, “I’ve never thought about it that way before." I named my practice “Refreshing Perspectives” because that’s what you’ll find with me.
