Areas I help clients with are: infidelity , couple's therapy, monogamous and polyamorous relationships, uncoupling, divorce and blended families, adult mother/daughter relationships.
Considering therapy is courageous! I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and validating space for couples, individuals, and families to gain clarity about unhelpful patterns, get support as they work through emotions that are tough to feel and even tougher to share. I hope to help clients build a solid emotional intelligence tool kit to respond more intuitively to themselves and more effectively to the people around them. I believe that in the face of life’s challenges, people are capable of change and of living their best lives. My hope is that you will be empowered to believe that, too.

Loved ones feel the intensity of betrayal and are determined to find answers and help for the challenges they are facing.
Relationships are the guiding forces in our lives for connection and where we learn to create meaning. I have built my practice exploring the unique needs of people struggling with the complexities of trauma and addictions. I have learned to understand the nuances and struggles that couples and families face in the discovery process of addictions as well as the daily impacts of living with secrets. Moving beyond secrets can be a difficult, but I can help guide you through it in an efficient and thoughtful manner. I believe change is collaborative process where trust, laughter, and safety are essential to the therapeutic journey.

I especially love working with challenges around parenting, infidelity , addiction, ADHD, and sexuality.
I work with couples and individuals who want to strengthen their mental health through building secure attachments with themselves and others. Together we explore life experiences that may have led to feelings of attachment insecurity and we work to build new experiences of emotionally safety and security. With couples, we explore places they get stuck and help create new communication patterns and a deeper connection to strengthen their bonds. I enjoy working with couples who want to work hard to improve their relationships and also support couples who want to end a relationship in a kind and caring way.

I work with adults and adolescents, individuals, couples, and families, helping them overcome anxiety, depression, chemical dependency and other addictions, PTSD and trauma (physical and sexual abuse, rape and domestic violence), family and relationship issues, including adoption, divorce, infidelity , anger, parenting, and issues related to the legal system.
My therapy style is engaged and proactive. Clients repeatedly tell me they feel safe and accepted in therapy to explore their issues, whatever they happen to be. I ask questions and make frequent observations to help clients (1) increase self-awareness and become more comfortable with themselves and their feelings, (2) to make better choices, (3) toward greater satisfaction in their lives and relationships. My unique history helps me understand and relate to the many struggles clients face, without judgment. As a sex therapist, I specialize in issues of sexual health including concerns around desire, functioning, trauma, out-of-control sexual behavior, infidelity , and LGBTQ+ and non-traditional relationships.
At some point in our lives, many of us look around and realize we no longer like the life we've built - or maybe even who we've become while living it. We may even feel we should like it, but somehow it no longer fits. I build relationships with clients, creating a safe place to explore and express these feelings. Therapy creates change by examining the experiences and beliefs that contribute to feeling stuck and make it harder to hear our own, often elusive, inner knowing. I love working with clients to address the issues holding them back so they can create a life and self that excites them again.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
