I am in the process of becoming a Certified Narcissitic Abuse Treatment Clinician
My specialty is working with couples and individuals to strengthen their mental health through building secure attachments with themselves and others. Together we explore life experiences that have led to feelings of attachment insecurity and we work to build new experiences of emotionally safety and security. With couples, we explore places they get stuck and help create new communication patterns and a deeper connection to strengthen their bonds. I also work with individuals who are struggling with relationships challenges including healing from antagonistic/narcississtic relationships.

Constantly bracing for the next crisis or struggling to feel safe—even when you know you are—is an incredibly heavy weight to carry. Trauma and life transitions can often make you feel like you’ve lost your voice and your sense of self. You may notice a lingering sense of unease that won't go away, even when life is stable. If you feel constantly on edge or doubt your own reality, please know these are natural responses to unnatural stress. I support adults, as well as children and adolescents (8+) in navigating these complexities to move beyond survival mode and reconnect with a sense of internal safety that feels sustainable.

I have over ten years of experience working with men and women who have experienced trauma, addiction issues, and relationship struggles including domestic/sexual violence.
Do you find yourself having thoughts that you just can't get out of your head or that the smallest thing sets you off? Is it difficult to shut your brain off at night or you keep replaying the same situation or experience? Maybe you become silent in situations or with others when speaking is necessary or even urgent. Do you have repeated nightmares or flashbacks of a situation that happened recently or a long time ago? Do you yell or overreact in situations or with other people and regret it later? If you answered "yes" to any of these, we would be a good fit. The goal is calm, regulated, joyful, and inner peace.

Many of my clients come in after doing prior therapy or personal growth work in which they’ve built insight, but they’re ready for deeper healing, integration, and meaning-making. I am trauma trained and work with PTSD and C-PTSD using neuro-informed art therapy to help people explore their story in a new way. My approach blends creativity, neuroscience, with strength-based trauma care. My clients set the pace and focus, and together we explore what feels important and what needs tending to support greater freedom.

The majority of my professional experience is in sexual and relationship violence, childhood abuse/emotional neglect.
In today’s world, engaging in therapy can be a radical act of self-love. My goal is to create a space where individuals feel comfortable accessing their vulnerabilities, exploring their identities, working through trauma, and healing childhood wounds. I use curiosity and compassion to identify behavioral patterns, negative self-talk, or anxieties that often keep us feeling stuck, dissatisfied, or depressed.

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
