If you’re seeking a therapist who is trauma-conscious, anti-racist, and specialized in serving bisexual , trans, and nonbinary people, let’s connect.
Your identities aren’t too complicated, society just needs to catch up. You're fed up with having your sexual, gender, or racial identities invalidated and devalued. You’re bombarded with feeling like you’re not enough and at the same time, you’re told that you’re too much. All this chatter makes you doubt and question what your identities mean to you. I get it. I've been there. And I'm here to help.

My therapeutic focus and passion is working with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, are neurodivergent, and/or are a member of the LBTQI community. In our culture, neurodivergent and LGBTQI individuals are often ostracized and othered by their surrounding communities. I, myself, am a neurodivergent member of the LGBTQI community ( bisexual ) and identify as gender queer.

I specialize in working with individuals from the gay, lesbian, bisexual , transgender and non-conforming gender communities.
Real change comes from understanding why our own impulses and behaviors hold us back from experiencing our true potential and discovering the skills to create the change we seek. I believe in a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy that helps people find the answers that were inside them all along. As a therapist, I am intuitive and compassionate, yet direct, and employ a mix of modalities, including traditional psychotherapy, cognitive therapy and mindfulness techniques.

Welcome! Being human is a beautiful and vulnerable experience that doesn't always have directions or clear answers. It is hard to be faced with so many unknowns regarding health, finances, politics, relationships, and the world at large. If you are a highly sensitive person, you may feel raw to everything around you including sounds, physical touch, or even other peoples' emotions. Or perhaps you would like a more fulfilling sex life and/or would like to feel more connected in your relationship(s).

I'm an Italian-/Irish-American, cis-, queer, always-aspiring-to-be-justice-doing, tarot-card-pulling art witch and half-assed-Buddhist who also happens to be a therapist. A professional artist, teacher and mentor of artists for almost twenty years before becoming a therapist, I offer my full authentic self (this may involve some swearing). I am a solidarity worker. This is transformative change work that values your inherent wisdom and lived experience. My work is truly affirming, rooted in the idea that unconditional love for ourselves, when combined with our innate creativity and knowing, is the strongest healing power we have.

I specialize in psychoanalysis for people who were emotionally and psychologically abused. In particular, I often work with people who've suffered from sexual abuse (rape, trafficking, and molestation) and people who are recovering from cult-like situations (religious/ familial/ narcissistic partnerships). Your abuse does not need to fit a particular category. Many people who have suffered from psychological enslavement (of any kind) feel an intense sense of helplessness. My mission is to help you overcome the ways you’ve felt stuck, broken and incapable and to help you find language and a new way to shoulder the pain you carry.

You're sure the average therapist can't handle or accept you, because that's what you get everywhere else you go. School, work, almost everywhere, it's been an uphill struggle to fit in and feel understood -- IF you even bother anymore. If you DO find YOUR people, YOUR tribe, you spend the whole time secretly terrified they'll figure out you're not good enough and kick you out. You've been burned a few too many times, which just reinforces your belief that you'll never belong. All that rejection and pain sits in your body and spirit, grinding you down every day. But there's still part of you that believes you can find your place.

If you're here because your past traumas are creeping up on you, what you show the world doesn't align with what's on the inside, or your anxiety/depression has depleted you---I want to work with you. You might be someone who has a hard time asking for help, so the fact that you're even thinking about getting it is a big step. You don't have to keep feeling the way you are. Sometimes, we just need a therapist to guide us along our path to feeling better. I want you to feel equipped to handle life’s ever-changing ups and downs, and to be able to do it with a sense of purpose, stability, and self-awareness.

Hi there! The last few years have been quite something, huh? I imagine you are looking for a therapist as you want to feel better and find some relief in your day to day life. Step by step, we can do some healing, create clarity, explore parts of you and your identities, build a more stable foundation, and identify your values you want to live your life by. I am a queer, social justice-oriented, & trauma-informed therapist in her late 30s who is a half-time therapist, half-time creative, and full-time human. I believe all humans deserve access to mental health care and I utilize a financial justice sliding scale at my practice.

Relationships are how we heal and learn about ourselves. Whatever is bringing you to therapy, you are not alone and I am so excited to meet you and join you on this journey. Together we will prioritize your goals, and what you hope to focus on in therapy. I am a verbal, expressive person and therapist. I work well with people who want more engagement and feedback on the part of the therapist. Whatever experiences in the world we might share, and whichever ones we don’t, I’m excited to learn about you and build a therapeutic relationship together.

How can I find a therapist in Minneapolis?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
