Feeling angry, hurt and resentful about your relationship? Wondering if this will ever get better? You have been wanting to make changes forever now but you just haven’t known where to start. Being trapped in this cycle of things getting bad enough to consider a divorce, then getting better, usually a high-point or at least a tolerable level of unhappiness, and a snarky response or a comment taken out of context sends you guys swinging back into the cycle of disrepair. You just want a way for this to get better and someone to show you how. Improving relationships is best done with someone experienced and with enough back bone.

I have the honor of working with people experiencing a wide variety of concerns: depression; anxiety; grief/loss; life transitions; chronic illness; postpartum depression; sexual abuse; relationship problems; low self-esteem; family of origin; stress and more. I also have a certificate in Narcissistic abuse. My relational approach is based on the belief that within the framework of a trusting relationship with a therapist, clients can explore patterns of behavior and emotions that may relate to earlier relationships. Once a better understanding of the origins of these patterns is developed, people often find lasting symptom relief.

“I am out with lanterns, looking for myself.” -Emily Dickenson. Can you relate, like you've lost parts of yourself? Whether it’s due to trauma, anxiety, addiction, ADHD, co-dependency, or parenthood, it can be tricky to put your finger on. Let’s get curious about those stories you’re carrying; most likely, they are heavy, and a part of you is ready to become unburdened. Together, we can move through the layers of your life, explore times, relationships and situations that contain conflict. I’ll meet you where you’re at, and from there, encourage you to identify themes and patterns in your life that are no longer working for you.

Are you feeling disconnected in your relationships? Are you struggling with emotional intimacy, trust, communicating, or taking up space? Relationships are at the heart of our well-being—but they can also be a source of confusion and pain. In my work, I help people reclaim their capacity to emotionally connect to themselves and others. Together, we'll explore relational dynamics, and how some challenging relational patterns may be rooted in past traumatic experiences. Through this process, we'll increase insight and begin to develop new ways of thinking and relating—ones that foster connection rather than conflict and distance.

Society has always told you to “be yourself…but not like that.” After years of wondering why things felt harder for you, you discovered that you are autistic. This realization should bring relief. Instead, it’s overwhelming. What does this mean for your relationships, your sense of self, and your future? Masking has been your survival tool, but it’s exhausting. The more you try to fit into the world’s expectations, the more drained and disconnected you feel. You want to live as your authentic self, but where do you even begin?

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, self-discovery, rumination, and building a loving relationship with themselves. I also support those navigating estranged relationships. With couples and parents, I help them navigate shifts in their relationship dynamics—whether expanding their family, managing parental burnout, or feeling the weight of the invisible load. I encourage couples to embrace healthy communication, approach conflict with curiosity, and cultivate safety during vulnerable moments. I also specialize in supporting mothers with boundaries, anger, community building, and the challenges of PPA/D.

I see therapy not as a surgical procedure to fix brokenness, but rather as a process similar to exercise—aimed at enhancing our existing strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth. I work to cultivate a safe space where individuals can sift through the noise of every day stress and painful memories of the past to discover new pathways forward. I strive to understand clients’ stories within the context of the many different systems surrounding them. I believe that our collective healing and liberation is tied to one another and that therapy can help us to reconnect to ourselves so we can better show up in our community.

Let’s be honest – life is moving faster and getting more stressful by the minute. The thought of finding the time or motivation to do anything about it, though, is a funny joke. So the cycle continues: you keep going to the same job, staying in the same relationship, and putting up with others' expectations. You're stressed, frustrated, and depressed. You find that your thoughts are distracting you, your body is tense, and you snap at everyone and everything. You can't even catch a decent night's sleep! You sometimes even argue with yourself because you "should" be happy with everything you have. So what gives?

I specialize in helping couples, families, and other kinds of relationships repair after ruptures, find harmony, and figure out how to make sustainable, enjoyable changes in their lives. I especially enjoy working with individuals, couples, and family dynamics (such as parent-adult children and adult sibling relationships). I help folks get unstuck by identifying unhelpful patterns, exploring stuckness, and helping people learn new ways of connecting to one another.

The clients I work with come from different backgrounds and experiences, each with their own unique challenges and hopes for therapy. Some are navigating relationship struggles, others are processing anxiety, self-doubt, or the impact of past experiences. Whether they seek more fulfilling connections, emotional clarity, or a deeper sense of self-trust, they’re looking for a space where their personal history, culture, and the larger systems they navigate are understood and explored.

Bisexual Therapists

What is bisexual-affirming therapy?

Bisexual-affirming therapy is a type of mental health support that fully affirms and reflects a client’s bisexual identity. It is rooted in acceptance and does not attempt to change or question an individual’s orientation. In this type of therapy, clients work with a therapist who understands the unique experiences of bisexual people. This support is especially important, as research shows that bisexual individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation compared to other groups. Bisexual-affirming therapy acknowledges that bisexual individuals may encounter specific stressors—such as invalidation, relationship challenges, and minority stress—that require specialized understanding and intervention. Many therapists also provide couples therapy for bisexual partners, helping them navigate relationship dynamics, communication challenges, or external stressors that may impact their relationship.

While not required, some clients prefer working with bisexual therapists who may bring personal insight to the therapeutic relationship. However, a non-bisexual therapist with strong training and a genuine commitment to affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who understands how identity impacts mental health and can create a space of trust and respect.

What can a bisexual therapist help with?

Bisexual-affirming therapists can provide support across a wide range of concerns relevant to bisexual individuals. Whether through personal or professional experience, they often have specialized knowledge in areas such as the coming out process, navigating stereotypes, and dealing with common stressors. Relationship support is another key area of focus, as bisexual clients may face unique challenge when dating or maintaining relationships across genders. Affirming therapists can also help clients build coping strategies for managing discrimination or stigma.

Additionally, many bisexual-affirming therapists can connect clients to other providers or community-based resources—such as bisexual support groups or LGBTQ+ organizations—that offer additional affirming spaces for connection. It's important to note that therapists provide can talk therapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication—if medication is needed for conditions like depression or anxiety, they will coordinate care with a psychiatrist or primary care physician who can provide psychiatric medication management alongside therapeutic support.

How do I find a bisexual therapist?

The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for finding bisexual-affirming therapists. You can use search filters to identify therapists who specialize in LGBTQ+ care and work specifically with bisexual clients. You can also filter by clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, accepted insurance, session costs, and languages spoken to find the right fit.

During initial consultations or early sessions, ask potential therapists about their specific training in bisexual-affirming care, their experience with LGBTQ+ clients, and their therapeutic approach to identity-related concerns. An effective bisexual-affirming therapist will demonstrate genuine understanding of bisexual experiences, including awareness of the unique challenges facing bisexual individuals. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
