I work with clients dealing with loss and transition and those struggling with anxiety and depression. I help my clients learn to be more present in their lives. This reduces irritability, reactivity, and the feeling of being overwhelmed or preoccupied. Together, we work to increase awareness of where they hold tension in their bodies and what triggers this tension. Often, we identify the emotions that are underneath the anxiety and they begin to heal by learning to accept and “sit with” these difficult feelings with compassion. This allows more ease in interpersonal interactions, conflict resolution and more joy in life.

I specialize in serving adults age 18+ with with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression. My philosophy is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected, and these inform how we experience the world. I utilize evidence-based therapies such as CBT and ERP (exposure & response prevention) to help you challenge beliefs that are keeping you stuck or unsatisfied with life. When working together, I would first focus on building a connection with you. Then together, we would collaboratively navigate through the web of your mental health symptoms.

I have experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and identity development.
My therapy style is relational and casual. I like to use humor and aim to be collaborative—if there’s something I can do or learn about to better help you, I want to hear it. Likewise, we all make mistakes, including therapists, so I strive to talk those through with you and help build a stronger therapeutic relationship. I hope to challenge the client/therapist power dynamic, meaning you are the expert on your life and our sessions should be guided by what you want and need. I love working with folks on exploring aspects of their identity and discussing ways oppressive systems show up in our lives.

When anxiety takes a hold on your life, it can help to know you’re not alone.
Getting tangled up with anxiety can feel like playing tug-of-war. Worrying, ruminating, and "what if" thoughts take up can take up so much of your time, making it hard to enjoy the things you love. Maybe you've spent your days trying to fix the way you feel through yoga, meditating, exercising, and even traditional talk therapy. But nothing gives you much relief. You are still stuck and wondering how to get out. If you struggle with anxiety, panic, intrusive thoughts, or OCD…. you are not alone. You are not crazy. You can be back to your old self again. Therapy can help you to be present in your every day life.

I have worked with adults who struggle with eating disorders, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, body image, relationship struggles, and difficult life transitions.
Sometimes life can become so overwhelming that we feel stuck and are unsure where to turn next. Sometimes in order to manage this stress, we turn to coping skills or patterns that are not helpful or healthy for us in the long run. For the past 15 years, I have worked with individuals to help them build awareness of any unhelpful patterns and behaviors that have gotten in way of living in line with their values and how they want to show up in their relationships and the world around them.

I can teach you to replace depression and anxiety with a sense of fulfillment.
Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. Maybe you want to change but don't know where to begin. Perhaps you are unhappy with your relationships. Maybe you feel your past interferes in your life but have felt too scared to "go there." Maybe depression and anxiety are a part of your daily life. I know where to start. My first step is to create a safe place where you can learn to do things differently, where you can flourish instead of just surviving.

In a safe, supportive, compassionate space, I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, loss, death, divorce, relationship concerns, life transitions and changes, questions about identity, as well as anyone struggling with everyday life.
Pathway to peace. Hope and change. Possibility and potential. These are just a few of the words I think of when describing therapy. As a seasoned professional I've guided countless people out of confusion and despair and back into a place of strength and empowerment. My ultimate goal with everyone is to increase their understanding of themselves. I do this by teaching you how to notice information that is currently being missed. Or you notice it, but don't know what do to about it. I place an emphasis on the “Now what?” phase of therapy that shifts the focus from an intellectual understanding to the application of the material.

I treat children with symptoms of attention and learning challenges including anxiety and sensory concerns. The modality I use is Developmental Movement Therapy and Primitive Reflex Integration which are Somatic approaches that focus on addressing the root of symptoms rather than teaching accommodations or coping mechanisms. Treatment sessions are fun, movement based and "home play" is offered to parents to as a way of engaging and supporting your child between sessions.
