I am also trained in philosophy & world religion/spirituality-- this gives me a unique ability to work with those dealing with spiritual crises & existential concerns, in addition to clinical mental health issues (anxiety, depression ).
I believe that self-exploration with a compassionate, non-judgmental presence is a powerful experience which results in deep, lasting change. Often times, our experience of the world and ourselves can feel vaguely yet urgently unsatisfying. Sometimes we unconsciously live in a reality which no longer feels like it "fits", but we know therapy is about being empowered to see yourself and the world in new, exciting ways. You don't have to feel stuck in how you experience life. We can work together to experience life more fully. (For efficient scheduling purposes, please email rather than call)

Using an eclectic mix of experiential, CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, 12-step, and attachment theory, I seek to address problems related to; substance use, eating disorders, PTSD, depression , anxiety, codependency, love addiction and more.
Who doesn't want freedom in all aspects of life? I believe that true freedom comes from transformation of self from the inside out. We are not on this planet to struggle, rather to find the courage to let our light shine. If you are feeling stuck in your relationships, career, family, or any other aspect of life perhaps it is time for a change. Life is short.

I use a proven therapy process that is very effective at healing anxiety, depression and many other problems.
I imagine many things in your life are going well, but there are a certain things you think, feel, or do that you just wish you didn't think, feel or do. Maybe you get anxious or angry when you feel criticized. Maybe you shut down and lose motivation when faced with a difficult task. Or maybe it's something else and it's getting in the way of you being yourself, and feeling comfortable at home, at school, or at work. You've tried lots of ways to manage your these thoughts or feelings, but they don't seem to calm down. It's like something takes over, filling you with anxiety, sadness, fear, anger or something else.

I have experience in multiple settings with children, adolescents and adults with addiction/substance use; co-occurring disorders; relationship concerns; depression /mood disorders; anxiety disorders; grief/loss, emotion management; low self-esteem, phase of life issues and identity concerns.
Life can be difficult to navigate at times but you do not have to do it alone. In our work together I wont try to fix you, tell you what to do, pretend I know more about you than you do or assume what’s best for you. However, I will remind you that you aren't broken, give you room to access your own wisdom, support you in figuring out what to do, recognize that you are the expert on your own life and collaborate with you on how to make the hard stuff easier to sit with. My aim is to provide a judgment free, calming space where you can feel safe, important, seen and know that your words and experiences are valued.

I can teach you to replace depression and anxiety with a sense of fulfillment.
Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. Maybe you want to change but don't know where to begin. Perhaps you are unhappy with your relationships. Maybe you feel your past interferes in your life but have felt too scared to "go there." Maybe depression and anxiety are a part of your daily life. I know where to start. My first step is to create a safe place where you can learn to do things differently, where you can flourish instead of just surviving.

So...COVID sucked. Now we're getting back to "real life" and it's weird. Communication challenges, family stuff, I get it. My measurement of "health" is the ability to cope effectively with the challenges of life, such as navigating anxiety, depression , grief, relationships with body, sexuality, culture, partners, coworkers, family, and friends. I operate from a holistic lens, welcoming the all aspects of you and your family, including sexual orientation, gender expression, racial and cultural messages, religion and spirituality into the therapeutic exploration.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
