15 years helping adults and couples transform alcohol use, overeating, and relational patterns, and move through affair recovery.
You’ve built a meaningful life — career, stability, relationships — yet something inside feels harder to manage than it appears from the outside. You may be navigating stress, complicated patterns with food or alcohol, or relationship dynamics that repeat despite your insight and effort. Or you may simply sense that something in your internal world is asking for deeper attention.

**Telehealth Available** I have often hoped that counseling could be viewed as routine as oil changes or perhaps, more pleasant: lunch. The truth is that counseling is often utilized during crises or when things feel “too much.” Maybe your experiences have led to challenges in your relationships, leaning on numbing agents to cope, having thoughts that are not typical for you, avoiding things in your life. Maybe old wounds are resurfacing or you're grieving something huge. You might not even know why you're reaching out. Anything is acceptable here. All I require from you is curiosity.

Sometimes life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, making it seem as if we have little control over the path our lives are taking. Trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, and other life challenges can make ordinary life difficult to navigate. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment that allows my clients to gain mastery over their situation rather than allowing their circumstances to run their lives. My therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive, collaborative, unique to each client, and focuses on client strengths.

I specialize in working with adults who have experienced a variety of stressful or traumatic life events, situations, or relationships - sometimes known as developmental or complex trauma - using an approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS), which recognizes and makes space for our natural human complexity and how it manifests as a variety of parts, or aspects, of ourselves.
From this broad-based vantage point, in IFS therapy we work together to get to know your system of parts, in a spirit of curiosity and exploration. Over time, we often find that the things that lead us to seek therapy - patterns of thinking, feeling, or relating - begin to soften or transform, as we attend to and care for our inner lives in this way.

Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Emily, I am a therapist that specializes in trauma, addiction, and healing work. I aim to be a place of safety, guidance, and support for anyone who is seeking to experience more joy and connection in life. As an interracial adoptee and body of culture myself, I recognize the extreme harm that systemic racism has on communities and bodies of color/culture. I believe in communal healing.
