Constantly stressed? Feeling worn out from everyone's expectations of you? You’re carrying so much right now that even one more thing could turn these feelings of overwhelm into an unmanageable chaos that you can't keep up with. Most people in your life don't know how much you're struggling and they might even praise you for "doing it all," but you know you can't keep this up forever. It isn't sustainable and it isn't fulfilling. You just aren't sure how to do it any other way....yet. The truth is, no one teaches us how to slow down—we usually only learn once our body or mind forces us to.

I've built a small, boutique practice that gives each client the time and access they need to a psychologist. You won't be one of 35 clients seen in a week, which is typical in most practices. Instead you will have a dedicated, compassionate psychologist provide you evidence-based psychological therapy, coaching, or consultation. This practice is ideal for busy professionals, executives, attorneys, tech leaders, and high schoolers and college students with complex issues. I cap my panel to 21 clients a week so each client gets what they need and deserve. I currently can practice telepsychology across the country in 40 states.

If you've had a stressful or traumatic event occur and you just can't get past it, you have been in talk therapy and it's helped but there is still something holding you back, or you've never gone to therapy, it's time to reach out and try something different. Are you struggling to move forward without anxiety, fear or shame? I often hear people say, "I'm not good enough" or "I did something wrong," even if they know logically this is untrue. I use EMDR, a type of therapy that is very effective for trauma, stress, anxiety and depression. Send a message today to learn more about how EMDR might be a good fit for your goals!

“Am I making the right choices? What do people think of me? Am I falling behind?” If these thoughts keep running through your mind, you’re not alone. A lot of people I work with feel like they’re just getting through the day, but the worry, stress, and self-doubt make it hard to really enjoy life—or even relax. You might notice your mind racing at night, replaying conversations, or imagining what could go wrong. Maybe your relationships feel tense, or you’re unsure who you really are or what you want out of life. That’s normal, and it’s something we can work through together.

Something shifts between two people when life gets hard. Before the wedding, in the first year of marriage, or when a baby arrives and the person you built everything with feels just out of reach. That quiet ache of "I miss us" is usually what brings couples in. Not the big blow-up. Just the slow distance neither of you knows how to name. Whether you're preparing for marriage, going through the early years or in the thick of new parenthood, we work on what's actually happening between you, not just the surface argument.

We all encounter stressful situations and events in our lives that can feel overwhelming and even insurmountable at times. These experiences are a normal part of life and may lead us to require a little help from time to time. I adopt a collaborative and strengths-based approach to both therapy and psychological assessment. I believe that each of us has a unique set of strengths and qualities that can be helpful in achieving our personal goals and empowering us to reach our true potential. Together, it is my hope that we will be able to discover things about yourself that will help you to make changes and improvements in your life.

Some seek therapy for answers, strategies, or relief from life's immediate challenges. Others bring deeper questions about themselves, meaning, purpose, and how to live more fully. If that resonates, you may find a good fit here. I offer both shorter-term therapy for stress, anxiety, and life transitions, and longer-term, presence-centered work that helps you discover and live from your depths. I welcome those navigating major life changes, as well as spiritual, religious, and contemplative seekers.

We all possess the strength and ability to learn what motivates us and what holds us back. Together I'd like to create a plan to aid in reducing the pain and suffering with whatever struggles you have in life and learn new ways to find happiness and inner-peace. My passion for guiding youth has always been at the forefront of my practice. It can be difficult as a parent or guardian and see your child struggle with depression, anxiety, anger or self-esteem. I want to support your child in a way to become a happy healthy adult.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
