In somatic therapy we combine body-centered practices with traditional talk therapy, like breathwork, yoga, and mindfulness practices.
Stress is felt in the body so healing requires us to incorporate the body. When combined with traditional talk therapies, this approach focuses on staying present, non judgment and acceptance, all which lead individuals to increased self regulation, a heightened sense of wellbeing, and to feeling aligned and empowered.

I have partnered with children, adolescents, adults and their families in various roles throughout my career. My core beliefs are that everybody and every family has beautiful strengths and resiliency and that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow. It has been such a privilege throughout my career to see kids and teens learn, adults heal, parents feel more empowered, and families become more connected because of the work we do together. Through that team effort, my clients and their families have found their pathway to healing, enhanced and built positive family dynamics, and allowed them all to find regulation of emotion

Setting goals is important for achieving new milestones, helping identify what is important in your life, and creating an overall sense of direction for your future. I strive to provide a warm, safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for self-discovery to reach your goals.

My ideal client may look “high-functioning” on the outside, but inside, they’re exhausted.
They are living with the lingering impact of trauma, whether from childhood wounds, relationship ruptures, medical experiences, systemic harm, or chronic stress. They may struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others. Some feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. Others carry shame they can’t seem to shake. Many have learned to survive beautifully—but they’re tired of just surviving.

I’m passionate about helping people who are struggling with eating disorders or feeling lost in their relationship with food and their bodies. I also work with children, teens, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, or overwhelming life stress. I aim to create a calm, supportive space where people feel understood and not alone in what they’re facing, and where healing can unfold at a pace that feels safe, manageable, and genuinely their own.

So many things can happen in long-term marriages. Are you feeling lonely? Disconnected? Or just frustrated you're not being heard and understood? Maybe resentments are building up and no matter how you try, you end up in the same conversation and conflict over and over. You are not alone. All relationships go through times of connection and more distance. In the middle of it, it can be hard to know what will help. I'm glad you've reached out for support. Most couples wait an average of SIX years before they ask for help. No matter your timeline, there's hope. Counseling here is very helpful.

Many of the individuals I work with struggle with managing daily life stressors. This may be due to experiencing a traumatic childhood, recovering from a recent traumatic event, or having trouble juggling the demands placed on them. Many people find themselves stuck or “going through the motions” and are looking for validation that they are not alone as well as help with finding hope and a purpose in their lives.

I tend to start with talk therapy approaches and, depending on our plan made together, often braid more somatic, body movement, and breathwork interventions into sessions as needed.
Hello there! If you're looking for a dynamic therapist with over 20 years of experience working nationally in a variety of settings, including outpatient hospitals, crisis, schools, and wilderness, who brings humor, compassion, and lived experience to session, then I may be a good fit for you!
Whether supporting people through difficult life transitions, processing family struggles, or offering parenting support, my practice is deeply rooted in a mindfulness-based, client-centered and integrative approach. I know how strong the healing power of the client-therapist relationship can be if it is grounded in mutuality and respect.

Trained and certified in EMDR; Trauma Conscious Yoga 250 hr, Breathwork; IFS (Internal Family Systems), Intro to Somatic experiencing and Polyvagal Interventions.
Nicole is a firm believer that trauma and addiction go hand and hand. "It too effects our bodies. A lot of times clients are unaware of that early in their recovery, and they have been using substances to cope for years. I am driven to teach my clients about the mind body connection by the teaching and exploring of somatics, negative thoughts, unconventional coping skills, i.e., such as breathworks, and by exploring safety and its meaning within themselves. Seeing other people's light shine again and finding themselves is the fuel to why I do this healing work."

I integrate somatic and cognitive-based therapies with mindfulness and breathwork, IFS therapy, biofeedback training, spirituality, movement, nutrition, and other self-care tools.
Most clients I work with are navigating anxiety, stress, depression, chronic health challenges, or meaningful life transitions. Some feel stuck or unsettled, and others simply want support, reflection, and a steadier sense of balance and grounding. They value a thoughtful, collaborative (and often non-traditional) approach that honors their pace and lived experience rather than quick solutions or over-pathologizing. Together, we focus on building insight, resilience, and practical coping strategies to create space for clarity, healing, and greater ease in daily life. When appropriate, I also provide psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Maybe you’re longing for closeness or healing within your relationship, or you’re carrying pain from the past that still feels too heavy. Image. Your mind is racing. All. The. Damn. Time. Your to-do list is a collection of post-it notes covering your table and you don't know where to start. You go about your day and all the sudden your heart is pounding, hands shaking, breathing is heavy, you have no idea why you feel this way, but it's confusing and you're losing control. Your internal voice is relentlessly mean and makes you feel like you'll never be "Normal." Sleep what's that? The struggle of being "enough" is real and the weight of your past is dragging you down. You're exhausted, nobody is listening and you feel alone is this fight against your own mind.

Our minds and bodies are the sacred lands of our experiences, containing forests of stories, shifting winds, rivers of emotions, and fields of sensations, ranging from painful to pleasureful. When the landscape is disturbed by stress and trauma, the ecosystem shifts out of balance toward pain. By skillfully bringing mind and body together, with the heart of altruistic intention to improve our lives for ourselves and others, we gain capacity to navigate with clarity, calm inner storms, heal rifts, and drink from the waters of fresh perceptions. Through deep listening, movement, attention, and imagination, insight dawns.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
