Life is magical and messy, often at the same time; I am here to support you. These are times when connection, though made much more difficult, is even more important. Together, we will work on changing the narrative, coping with the intense pressure and stress you are facing, focusing on your strengths, and allowing space to connect to compassion for yourself. I work with people who struggle with mental health and addiction, relationship issues, self-esteem, isolation and loneliness, and a myriad of other issues that create a block from connecting to authentic contentment.

There are many stressors and situations in life that may cause disconnect from our selves and others. This may lead to feelings of irritability, sadness, stuck-ness, or resentment, as well as less fulfillment in relationships or at work. In my approach, I aim to reestablish or strengthen the connection one has with themself and others. I work to understand your perspective, build awareness and compassion, and increase skills, like coping and communication strategies, that assist you in living an intentional and self-driven life.

**I am not taking new couples as this time.** Individual therapy is one of the best gifts that we can give ourselves. I tend to work with clients who want to move away from unhealthy habits, seek transformation and are actively working to create the life they desire. You may find that Individual therapy could also revamp your relationship(s) through the process of learning new self-care habits, reducing your anxiety, finding a healthier work/life balance, and exploring new parts of yourself that will foster increased self-esteem.

I provide therapy to adults who struggle with mental health and chemical health concerns, depression, anxiety, impulsivity, OCD, boundary issues, relationships conflict,
self esteem
and significant life changes.
Making the choice to start therapy is not always an easy task and requires a lot of courage to ask for help. Whether your suffering stems from substance use issues, loss, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem, know that you are not alone. We all are trying to do the best we can to take care of ourselves but sometimes that can fall short. The good news is, therapy provides the space to reflect on old patterns, behaviors, and begin to ask ourselves, "Is this working for me anymore?" If the answer is no, let's take a look at it.

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
