Focusing on strengths and incorporating elements of mindfulness, IFS, and EMDR, I work with adults to overcome challenges associated with conflict, trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
Life can feel overwhelming when you're trapped in negative emotions. Your nervous system is on overdrive. You're exhausted, but unhelpful thoughts keep you from feeling rested. You're irritable. You feel like something is wrong with you. Even minor inconveniences feel like they have the power to derail your whole day. Your relationships suffer - at work, at school, at home, and with yourself. These negative emotions can feel like they've swallowed you whole; you yearn to feel calm, light, and free so you can enjoy your life, your relationships, and your own company again.

I integrate EMDR, parts work, somatic awareness, and practical coping strategies to help you process what’s been overwhelming and build new ways of responding.
You’re used to being the one who holds everything together — but inside, you feel overwhelmed, anxious, hopeless or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break. Maybe you shut down emotionally, overthink everything, or use alcohol or other coping strategies to get through the day. I help high‑achieving adults who struggle with anxiety, trauma, burnout, people‑pleasing, or substance use patterns that feel impossible to change. That’s where our work begins. I help ambitious profressionals stop living in survival mode.

Therapy is different for everyone. I believe one of the most important aspects of successful work in therapy comes from the strength of the client/therapist relationship. The process of solving emotional and relational problems can be both intimidating, and very rewarding. I work to help individuals and couples discover their strengths and build on them. The process of change will be unique to each person, and I am honored to be on it with you.

At some point in our lives, many of us look around and realize we no longer resonate with the life we've built - or maybe even who we've become while living it. We may even feel like it should resonate, but somehow it no longer fits. In these moments, we can feel stuck, unable to hear our own knowing, or choose the next best step forward.
Our minds, built for surviving, often resist life’s changes and transitions. But our spirits, built for thriving, believe change is trustworthy. Together, we’ll explore where life has moved out of alignment and build capacity for leaning into change.

I'm trained in EMDR therapy, which can be incredibly effective for clients healing from trauma, PTSD, or difficult life experiences.
You don’t have to shrink yourself to fit into a space that wasn’t built for you.
As a therapist based in Minneapolis, MN, I specialize in holding space for people who are often left out of the mainstream narrative—those navigating identity, trauma, and complex life transitions. Whether you're exploring non-traditional relationship models (like polyamory or kink), living with HIV, identifying as LGBTQ+, or just trying to survive adulthood with your sanity intact, you're welcome here. While I work with a variety of folks, I have a particular affinity for working with healers and health care workers (no, you will not gross me out).

Can't seem to turn your mind off? Struggling to cope with the challenges of work, daily life, and relationships? None of us should be expected to simply know how to deal with things just because we are adults. There was no manual given to any of us at birth. (If you happened to get one, send me a copy). I am passionate about helping people find agency and acceptance in their life. I use practical skills to reinforce the quality of life you want to sustain long term. Since the dawn of the digital age life has become more isolated and independent. Let's do this together instead!

As an EMDRIA certified therapist, I work with adults who have experienced trauma, anxiety, or who are in the middle of a difficult life transition.
EMDR work is based around how the brain stores and processes information related to traumatic events. By giving your brain a safe environment to process through traumatic memories in a way that was not possible at the time of the event, we aim to alleviate the distress associated with the trauma, allowing you to move through life more freely.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
