I completed a Master's of Social Work degree from the University of St. Thomas and the College of St. Catherine. As part of my education, I interned at a mental health center; providing individual, family and group therapy. I was an elementary school social worker for 8 years and have been working as a therapist for 16 years. I have worked with a variety of concerns and a variety of ages. Including; adjustments, anxiety, depression, life transitions and social concerns. I utilize many modalities of therapy and techniques-all tailored to the specific needs of the client while we build a supportive therapeutic experience.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in 2011. I work with children, teens, women, couples, and families. I enjoy helping people with a variety of topics, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, parent-teen conflicts, spiritual issues, and women's issues. I am DBT-trained, EMDR-certified, and I also use CBT. I take a collaborative approach with clients and integrate faith into counseling when desired. I also specialize in treating Third-Culture Kids (TCKs), as this is part of my personal experience.

I believe people are basically competent, come to therapy because their usual coping skills are not working with problems. I believe in the healing qualities of relationships. I have trained in Pia Mellody's PIT Model to work with people in recovery from childhood trauma, addictions and relationship problems who are struggling with anxiety, depression and other emotional stresses. Therapy is not easy, and finding the space to connect and/ or reconnect to your self exploration and personal reflection is a gentle process. We as individuals shift all the time, and I believe in the ability to sit in discomfort, process emotions and experiences, while creating steps for growth, transition, and change. The ability to become more secure and confident in yourself, while learning your own personal patterns that may impact attachment, communication, and coping skills, and wanting to grow through each stage.

The first thing you should know about me is that I am laid-back, informal, and nonjudgmental; I just refuse to be the cold, clinical therapist-type! I will work hard to establish a real connection with you and to create a truly safe and compassionate environment for new insight, growth and healing. I believe the most important part of therapy is the alliance between therapist and client; if we don’t have a strong connection, sessions aren’t as effective.
