It seems inevitable that at some point in everyone's life, the thread that connects us to our deepest center becomes frayed or lost. We may experience this as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, physical illness, feeling "stuck", and more. These symptoms are messengers of the soul and can lead us to that deep place where healing and transformation can occur. Our psyche also speaks to us through joy, a sense of "calling," intuitions, synchronicities, talents, etc... but often we listen best to pain. Together, we can rediscover your authentic Self and access your own wellspring of healing.

I also work with trauma, grief/loss, EMDR, and many other areas.
I work with individuals and couples and multiple relationships. I believe person we engage with is a relationship in some manner, whether it's an intimate partner, friend, sibling, family or your relationship to self. I want to work with you if you are willing to engage the therapy process. Therapy is challenging and happens mostly outside of the one hour session a week (at most). I will meet you where you are at if you commit to do the hard work on your end.

Besides clinically proven methods of DBT and CBT, I offer Brainspotting and Flash, a type of EMDR, to get to your issues, whether trauma, depression, anxiety or stress.
Let's be honest, you don't want therapy to take years to make you feel better. I'm here to help you get to the heart of your problem and teach you skills to improve the quality of your life. Maybe you've gone through trauma, maybe you're going through stess and anxiety, maybe it's depression. With over 15 years of experience in the helping profession, I'm here to help. On the outside, things may look “fine,” but internally you're struggling. You're pushing through while feeling disconnected, irritable, or stuck in your head. Together, we'll heal the hurt.

I especially enjoy supporting college-aged and young adult women through life transitions, body image and self-esteem concerns, and relationship challenges. I work with clients to explore how past roles and relationship patterns shape

I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, and EMDR-informed therapy.
I have experience supporting individuals navigating substance use, mental health concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, and more. My prior military service also gave me first hand experience into the unique challenges that service members/veterans face every day. I bring this perspective into my work with warmth, compassion, and respect for each person’s individual story. No matter your situation, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported. Shoot me a message or give me a call if you think we may be a good fit. :)

Hi! I’m a therapist with a passion for helping teens and adults navigate life’s ups and downs. With experience in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I focus on helping you manage tough emotions, build stronger relationships, and find balance. I also have basic training in EMDR, which allows me to incorporate additional strategies for processing difficult experiences. I love using creativity in sessions, especially art, as a way to express feelings when words don’t quite cut it. My approach is laid-back, nonjudgmental, and sometimes even a bit humorous—because therapy doesn’t have to feel stuffy.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
