Wise ones have advised, "Know thyself." My work as a therapist is to assist you to do just that...to help you learn about yourself, but to learn with much more compassion and empathy than you've likely allowed yourself before. Whether you are seeking couple's, individual, or family therapy, I will work with you to understand the issues you name more fully. We will then identify resources, strategies, and tools you can use to address and manage those issues more effectively. I utilize psychodynamic, CBT, EMDR, mindfulness-based, and relational approaches, and attempt to offer a holistic perspective.

Life isn’t easy. We all go through times of self-doubt, pain, grief, and hardship. The good news is, we don't have to do life alone. The fact that you’re reading this tells me you might just agree with me. Taking that first step already shows your courage and readiness for change, and I applaud your progress already in that healing journey. I know how daunting these first steps can be, so give yourself credit for coming this far!

Everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, understood, and open to being vulnerable in taking on life’s challenges. My goal in therapy is to create such a space. I believe there are two experts in a therapeutic space: the therapist and you, the client. My approach to therapy is geared toward not only learning about and addressing the issues you as a client are facing but also the strengths you possess and how we can utilize those to tackle life’s challenges. Starting at age 8, I help clients with a variety of challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and stress management.

Life can unravel in ways we didn’t plan for—addiction, burnout, grief, emotional abuse, gaslighting, or relationships that slowly erode your sense of self. When that happens, it’s not always about inspiration or big breakthroughs. It’s about steady work, clarity, and rebuilding trust in yourself. My name is Warren Fritze., working as a therapist for over 25 years, working with people 16 and older. I help people sort through chemical use, recover from emotionally abusive dynamics, and untangle the confusion that comes with manipulation and gaslighting. I also work with those who feel stuck in life and disconnected from themselves.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
