I work with high-performing adults including healthcare professionals, academic faculty, leaders, and those in demanding roles who are navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, or persistent patterns that no longer respond to effort alone. Many of my clients are used to functioning at a high level, yet find themselves feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Therapy becomes a space to step out of constant output and into a more sustainable, aligned way of living and working.

OPEN to take on new clients! Suffering is a common part of life, and as painful as it can be, it can also be a great source of change and growth. I believe a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental space is essential in order for you to feel supported in sharing your story, emotions, and participating in a change process. I also am the type of therapist that will challenge you, ask questions, provide insight, and work with you collaboratively to address what is most important to you. I place a large emphasis on the therapeutic relationship- using an integrated approach based on the needs of each individual.

Serving clients across Minnesota over telehealth, or in person in Wayzata & Inver Grove Heights, we might be a good fit if you are looking to examine long-held beliefs about yourself and the world. In what ways are values driving decisions, and in what ways is discomfort influencing decision making? My clients can expect to be met with both compassion and accountability. I enjoy working with people in the LGBTQ+ community, individuals struggling with identity, shame, belonging, and those affected by the sociocultural climate.

My specialty is adults with ADHD, but I also treat the common co-occurring concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma and OCD.
You've maybe tried therapy before and it felt like you were just venting without going anywhere. Or maybe the anxiety is manageable some weeks and unbearable others, and you're not sure what's actually going to help long-term. Either way, you don't have to stay stuck. I'm Jeana, a licensed professional clinical counselor with 9 years of experience, including 8 years in inpatient mental health settings. That background means I bring a high level of clinical depth to the anxiety, ADHD, relationship patterns, and career stress that many of my clients are navigating.

Your symptoms are not cracks to be mended; they are communications from beyond— letters of desire your conscious life cannot yet bear. Our work begins exactly there. I practice from a Lacanian orientation, which means I listen not only for what you intend to say, but for what is said despite you. In that gap, something profoundly new can emerge. I do not promise solutions, positive thinking, or techniques for becoming “better adjusted.” I offer a place where you can finally speak freely, without needing to hide your desire, your contradictions, your ambivalence, or your pain.

Engage in therapy from your couch, car, patio... Travel to the counseling office is such a barrier to starting therapy. Remote (telehealth) therapy saves time and stress! If you are in MN, I can work with you. It takes work to cultivate a healthy self. Having moved through my own career, faith and family transitions, I want to work with you so that you can become your best self.

Making the decision to make a change and begin therapy is often filled with various emotions ranging from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety. In addition, navigating which therapist to choose in a fallen world can be confusing and frustrating. Like you, I faced adversity in my life and decided to make a change. By God's love and grace, I have been able to heal from my past, make changes, and live a life filled with meaning and purpose in serving Jesus. I believe you can not give what you do not have. For this reason, I am here to be a vessel for God to work. My hope is God will do for you what he has done for me.

With the clients I work with, their goals often include processing past trauma in a safe, trauma-informed way, building confidence and autonomy, exploring and affirming their identity, improving relationships, and finding ways to express themselves authentically in the world. They come to therapy because they want to feel empowered, understood, and supported in living life on their own terms, while being fully accepted for who they are. My ideal client is ready to engage in therapy that honors their whole self, including their body, identity, neurodivergence, and lived experiences, while actively working toward change and growth.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
