I find it rewarding beyond words to be allowed to share in my patient's unique life experiences and witness their growth and transformation. It is an honor to be trusted with another person's inner world and to be able to build a therapeutic relationship that helps them recover from whatever difficulties that they are experiencing. I provide a therapeutic space in a comfortable, home-like atmosphere that deviates from the "going to the local mental health center" experience.

I work with high-performing adults including healthcare professionals, academic faculty, leaders, and those in demanding roles who are navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, or persistent patterns that no longer respond to effort alone. Many of my clients are used to functioning at a high level, yet find themselves feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Therapy becomes a space to step out of constant output and into a more sustainable, aligned way of living and working.

Hi! Finding a therapist who's the right fit for you can be such a rough process, right? I'll be as straightforward as possible: From me you can expect gentle honesty, flexibility, and lots of humor. I'm also super gay, super ADHD, anti capitalist, and body neutral. I've worked in mental health care for ten years focusing on the intersections of sex and trauma, as well as body size and trauma. Fat is not a bad word. I'm trained in EMDR and love it, but my goal is truly to meet you where you're at, pushing you just to your comfortable edge for growth.

The best indicator of healing in therapy is the quality of the working relationship. I live by these words by offering a safe space for clients to unmask and encourage their needs to be known. Often people are sharing their most vulnerable moments in the four walls of my office and I see it as my duty to honor their experiences with curiosity and gentleness. As a therapist I’m not shy about letting patients know I have personal experience with mental health, addiction, and queer/ trans identity. Clients will likely notice the humor, creativity, and honesty I bring to sessions.

I work with clients ages 12 and up. I have special passions for treating folks struggling with negative self talk, symptoms of post traumatic stress, self harm, and suicidal ideation: if you feel like life isn't worth living, I want to explore that with you. Instead of shutting it down, let's built a life you DO experience as worth living. As a transgender and autistic therapist I love to work with clients looking to explore and process gender, sexual orientation, and/or neurodivergence.

I currently work with individuals, partners, and families. My area of passion and expertise is gender and sexuality. I also view therapy and self-care as an act of resistance and believe it can help individuals with marginalized identities cope with minority stress and systemic oppression. I am currently seeing clients virtually if you live in MN. I work with almost all mental health diagnoses including anxiety, depression, panic disorders, PTSD/CPTSD, bipolar, personality disorders, DID, and schizophrenia/delusional disorders. I also have specialized experience in substance use and eating disorders.

The clients I work with come from different backgrounds and experiences, each with their own unique challenges and hopes for therapy. Some are navigating relationship struggles, others are processing anxiety, self-doubt, or the impact of past experiences. Whether they seek more fulfilling connections, emotional clarity, or a deeper sense of self-trust, they’re looking for a space where their personal history, culture, and the larger systems they navigate are understood and explored.

As a trans/ queer and neuroexpansive human, I don’t believe in boxes and value creative approaches to growth.
Being a human can feel like an impossible task, especially if you’re different or disadvantaged. I specialize in healing from trauma, shame, (mis)diagnosis, grief, and other disruptions to the feeling of being alive. By connecting with the body and felt experience, I aim to help people express themselves more freely and take action that matters.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
