An ideal client would be someone who is committed to making changes, needs support and is looking to grow as an individual and/or as a couple. I work with client's to create small, achievable goals as we begin our work together. Therapy can provide you the the weekly space and time to focus on your needs without judgement. This can be valuable in this age of distraction. I also have a niche interest in getting more men to attend and benefit from therapy.

Healthy relationships with ourselves and others are some of the greatest indicators of overall well-being. We are hardwired for connection, and some of our most profound healing experiences and deepest emotional wounds happen with those closest to us. I use an attachment framework and trauma-informed lens to help you explore your attachment history, recognize your views of self and others, identify patterns that contribute to gridlock issues, and then work to communicate your needs in new ways that strengthen connection, trust, and security with yourself and in your present and future relationships. Refer to my website bio for more.

Welcome. I believe we all have the power within us to get to the healing, healthy growth, and development we need. My particular clinical approach is based in humanistic, relational, and family systems theory, and is focused more on human potential than it is on human pathology. Prior to graduate school, I studied widely in philosophy, theology, art, literature, life sciences, and athletic performance, all of which inform my view of human nature, and human existence. What in your life would you like to be better? In our work together, I utilize the collective wisdom of the healing and growth of others to bear on the present moment.

I have additional training in EMDR, DBT, Perinatal mental health and advanced grief.
Trauma leaves us feeling broken, damaged, and disconnected from our true selves. You may feel like no one understands you; isolated from friends and family because they aren’t experiencing the same thing, or cut off from your faith because this feels so hard. You might not even remember a time when you didn’t feel this way, but you are absolutely certain it’s time for a change. You’re ready to step out of the shadow of feeling anxious and overwhelmed and back into the light, out from under the weight of your anxiety and depression. Most of all, you’re ready to find a renewed sense of purpose and meaning in your life.

Life is hard and often not fair at times. We seek therapy to feel heard, validated and find ways to move through our pain. I work with a broad range of individuals, couple's and families. My passion is helping those with relational issues, developmental trauma, substance use as well as eating disorders. I will work with individuals (13+). I love working with transplants as I understand the complexities of moving to another part of the country and not knowing the culture. My goal is to help you find yourself, that internal voice that tells you, "you are worthy, you are enough."

I use a trauma-informed lens to find what has helped before and include pieces of CBT, DBT, ACT, and IFS in my practice.
Feeling overwhelmed or stuck in a pattern that isn't serving you? Asking for support can often be a step toward healing. I am passionate about walking alongside your journey to recovery, resilience, and self-discovery. By exploring the relationship between the brain, body, and our need for connection, we can understand and heal the parts of ourselves that are hurting. I emphasize holistic health and enjoy bringing humor into navigating everyday stressors and life transitions. Before starting my practice, I worked in management & non-profits and bring this diverse set of skills to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space.

I have formally trained in PSI Perinatal Mental Health, Level 1 & Level 2 trained in EMDR, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
If you are carrying the heavy weight of unprocessed trauma, or if depression and anxiety have drained your energy, it can feel completely exhausting. When you layer on major hormonal shifts, pregnancy, or the postpartum period, it’s easy to feel like you’ve completely lost your footing. You do not have to navigate this overwhelming season alone.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
