You are considering divorce and fear how it will affect your children. Or you're divorced and met someone and want to blend your families, but are worried about the difficulties that blending brings. These family transitions are full of significant challenges such as grief over the breakup of the family, confusion over stepparent roles and responsibilities, hostile co-parenting relationships, jealousy of ex-spouses or stepchildren, and more. You want happy and healthy relationships with partners, exes, children, and stepchildren. You hope for a sense of "we-ness" as a new family unit and crave peace and balance in the future.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults, including those who are neurodivergent or on the autism spectrum. Many of the people I see come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or uncertain about how to manage emotions, relationships, or life transitions. I also support Spanish-speaking clients, providing culturally responsive care in both English and Spanish. My clients often want a space where they can be understood, explore their experiences without judgment, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

CASE LOAD CURRENTLY FULL Most clients come to me by word-of-mouth referrals, but I periodically take on new clients if they are a good fit. My client base is roughly 70% female-identifying and 30% male-identifying, and I respect each client's journey in an allied way. While I have a broad range of experience working with people across the lifespan, what I most enjoy is working with high-achieving adults in the first half of life. I view therapy as an opportunity to grow and evolve, while also mastering the ability to be fully present, whether you are looking for your calling, embodying your identity, or preparing for your next step.

Using evidence-based therapies like art therapy, CBT, narrative, and somatic work—while weaving in faith if it's part of your story— we help you heal and create a path forward.
You’re the one who keeps it together. The go-to. The strong one. But inside? You’re tired. Tired of second-guessing every text, shrinking your needs, and pretending you're fine when you’re falling apart. You wonder, Why can’t I just be okay? You’re craving clarity. Boundaries that stick. Peace that doesn’t feel like a fantasy. You want to stop abandoning yourself to make others comfortable. You’re beyond ready — you just need a little guidance to get moving.

Art Therapy
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
