In order to find more contentment in our lives, it is essential that we face our difficulties in a safe environment. I enjoy working with adults struggling with self-esteem, addictive behaviors, self-care, life-transitions, childhood trauma, parenting/step-parenting, relationship issues and more. I utilize an empathetic, genuine and kind approach in session creating a safe space for people to work through and explore their difficulties.

I am currently waitlisted about 8-9 weeks for new patients. I use an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach to psychotherapy. I am enthusiastic and passionate about the IFS model and adhere to the belief that there are no bad parts of ourselves, just parts we haven’t had the chance to become friends with yet. As an IFS therapist, I assist my clients with restoring harmony in their inner family systems through Self-leadership. The goal of IFS therapy is to assist parts in relaxing from extreme roles (reducing mental health symptoms and challenging behaviors) and to heal from our past experiences (trauma, shame, 'burdens').

I provide a safe and confidential space to work through past and current experiences, traumas, and identify goals. I teach and model healthy coping skills to manage life stressors. My friends would describe me as attentive, a good listener, inciteful, direct, encouraging, and caring. I have 7+ years working in mental health, with the last 3 in a clinical office setting. David has a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). David is a Certified Complex Trauma Professional (Level 2), a Level 1 Trained IFS therapist and has extensive experience providing individual therapy to complex clients with mood disorders (depression, anxiety), personality disorders, relationship/family issues, trauma and chemical dependency concerns. David consistently seeks new strategies to assist clients in creating change. By using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework, he helps clients unburden parts of their past to increase the their Self leadership.

My focus is on supporting children, adolescents and adults who are struggling with mental health issues as well as those going through life transitions. I am familiar with the challenges that students face, both socially and academically. My goal is to help clients reduce, manage, and resolve their issues. Clients learn to increase their emotional IQs and emotional regulation skills, develop better communication skills, strengthen their most resourced self, and manage ego states (my anxious part, depressed part, my angry part, etc.). I use cognitive behavioral therapy, Internal Family Systems (parts work), and other therapies and modalities. In session, treatments are offered and practiced, such as EMDR.
