My name is Mitchell Harmon (he/him) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S). I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. I believe that life is a series of transitions, and it is during these transitions that people experience their greatest struggles, and their greatest triumphs. Change is never easy, and most people are trying to live their greatest lives, but sometimes experience barriers to being the best that they can be. I consider it a privilege to help people become the greatest version of themselves.
I am certified in EMDR (a method of trauma therapy that addresses information processing and emotional distress linked to past memories). I am also skilled in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I use these techniques to heal trauma.
The approach I take in counseling is that of a guide walking with you rather than an expert directing you. I understand the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and that your feeling comfortable working with me is the greatest priority. I embrace all differences, and am an ally to those in the LGBTQ, BIPOC, and neurodivergent communities.
