Misty Kirby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky who has been practicing since 2004. Misty holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Kentucky University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University. Misty presents with a warm but straight forward approach while practicing a strength-based and person-centered approach to therapy. She is able to build rapport quickly which allows for a therapeutically appropriate relationship between therapist and client.
Misty is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based approach designed to help individuals quickly and effectively process and resolve trauma and distressing emotions. Misty also offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which encourages accountability with the client while empowering them to make healthy choices for their own lives.
Misty began her career working with families and children with the Department for Community Based Services and counseling children in foster care. She went on to work at a Day Treatment Center for more than a decade providing individual and group counseling to delinquent adolescents and teenagers and their families.
