In counseling children and adolescents, I prioritize how you relate to others, how you feel, and how you behave. I provide counseling to people experiencing difficulty adjusting to parents’ divorce or separation; maltreatment, bullying or lack of acceptance; isolation and increased loneliness; increased conflicts with parents; and perfectionism and excessively high standards. These experiences can cause my clients to experience an increase in sleep loss due to worry, feeling unhappy or depressed, persistent negative thoughts, feeling distressed, obsessive-compulsive disorder and loss of confidence in themselves.

Using CBT, we'll examine and confront “should” and “must” statements; work on social comparisons and self-esteem; learn mood regulation; challenge irrational thoughts and focus on productive problem-solving. I use Person Centered therapy to create a non-judgmental, empathetic space to process trauma, rebuild self-worth, and reduce emotional distress.

I use accepting language, so that you will feel comfortable sharing your strengths, challenges and opportunities an will at times challenge you. Through hearing your story, we'll start to get a picture of where you've been, currently are and where you want to go!
