I've been a master level clinical social worker for more than 5 years. I am also a master level communication specialist of 30 years. My approach to therapy is whatever works for my client. Sometimes I will use a mix of approaches to customize therapy for each person with whom I work. My focus areas of practice are communication concerns, trauma history, and self-esteem concerns. These are often intertwined with depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns as well.
I have worked with clients in multiple therapy areas, but my practice focus is on stress/anxiety management, self-esteem/self-confidence building, trauma, and life stage transitions. I find it rewarding to work with people who have struggled with the effects of long-term trauma and see them gain freedom from trauma effects.
When I work with someone, it is always in a collaborative, trust-based environment. The format is based on mutual respect, allowing clients to feel free to express concerns without judgment. Previous clients have expressed that their time with me is comfortable and is sometimes the only place in their lives that feels safe.
