Miriam Oppenheimer, LMHC, Counselor in Hadley
I offer gentle, attuned, non-judgmental care for adolescents and adults impacted by anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional reactivity, self-criticism, relational difficulties and addictive habits. My steady intention is to create a trustworthy, collaborative relationship that honors your truth and your natural capacity to heal. With an attitude of curiosity and kindness, we can open to a deeper understanding of your needs and vulnerabilities, the conditions causing problems in your life, and a wise way forward that builds on your strengths and addresses obstacles that may be blocking your capacity to fully engage in life.
I have worked in school-based, residential and outpatient settings and enjoy the process of cultivating adaptive resources to weather inner storms, set healthy boundaries, release self-defeating beliefs/habits, feel more at ease, open to new possibilities and befriend oneself, which often serves to deepen relationships.
I offer guided meditations in session and support the practice of mindful resources in everyday life. I have a special interest in Neuroscience and Buddhist Psychology and have completed a year of trauma training with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
