There is no such thing as an ideal client. However, ideally you should be at the "Contemplation" stage of change. This stage of change means that you are aware of the pros and cons of change and you intend on addressing the concern between now and the next six months. The cons are probably weighing you down and you are ready to begin facing some sort of dilemma such as an "ultimatum." As your therapist, I would like to help you with this transition. Theoretically, I am quite Solution-Focused and extremely culturally competent. I offer a sense of cultural self-awareness and believe that your environment can be a contributing factor to your decision making model. In addition, as a skilled counselor I have a clear and explicit knowledge and understanding of how unpredictable and life can become.
