Are you looking for a different approach to therapy? Movement Therapy implies we will run, walk, or move in some way during our sessions. This means we energize our body. Then through Zen meditation we are able to focus the mind. You will learn to incorporate mindfulness to regulate your emotions. This benefits you and your relationships. Are you feeling so stressed you are struggling to focus or make decisions? Are you exhausted and sad? Are you always on the go with no time for yourself? Maybe your relationships are strained. Perhaps you feel annoyed or even resentful towards others? Set up a consultation and give Movement a try.

I specialize in Dance / Movement Therapy, Body Psychotherapy, and EMDR Therapy, somatic modalities that foreground your body as a teacher and guide in your therapy process.
Welcome to my page! I'm so curious what brought you here... Are you an activist, healer or CAREgiver and healing yourself is part of your calling? Has your BODY called upon you to heal through sensation, movement , and creativity? Maybe your ART pushes you to transform complex pain into a wellspring of power and creativity? Or maybe you are an “in-betweener” in some way and you long for WHOLEness in an often-fragmenting world? I would love to help you move through any stuck points and witness you naturally unfold your GIFTS. I view therapy as a dignified and sacred journey that brings healing into our interconnected world.

I treat children with symptoms of attention and learning challenges including anxiety and sensory concerns. The modality I use is Developmental Movement Therapy and Primitive Reflex Integration which are Somatic approaches that focus on addressing the root of symptoms rather than teaching accommodations or coping mechanisms. Treatment sessions are fun, movement based and "home play" is offered to parents to as a way of engaging and supporting your child between sessions.

Movement is important to me. I believe that when we feel stuck and unfulfilled it can interrupt the way we move through our life. I am passionate about teaching individuals. I strive to cheer you on your path to growth and help you learn how to manage challenging life circumstances through improving relationships by reducing anxiety and stress that comes along with this process. My hope is to be your guide by utilizing evidence-based practices to help you manage challenging life circumstances, reduce anxiety and stress, and accept the past so that it doesn’t continue to influence your future.

I have specific training in the treatment of trauma, and am furthering my education in dance / movement therapy which is a more integrative, embodied approach to mental health.
I believe good therapy involves having a positive healing experience that includes your whole self and can be translated to your everyday life. I utilize creative approaches along with concrete tools to assist your body, mind and spirit with building a greater sense of safety and calm, leading to growth and connection with self and others. I especially welcome families or individuals navigating growth and change; parents of children with chronic health needs; couples seeking greater connection in their relationship; or individual adults seeking body-centered care for trauma, anxiety, or depression.

Are you in a weird space between student and "adulty" adult? Are you getting to know your folks as people, rather than just as your parents? It's an awkward transition and I'm here for you. My measurement of "health" is the ability to cope effectively with the challenges of life, such as navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationships with body, sexuality, culture, partners, coworkers, family, and friends. I operate from a holistic lens, welcoming the all aspects of you and your family, including sexual orientation, gender expression, racial and cultural messages, religion and spirituality into the therapeutic exploration.

I am a Latinx bilingual licensed psychologist dedicated to supporting people from diverse cultural and economic background as they cultivate their own resilience building practices. I use my experience working with patients to determine how to best facilitate the development of a healthy mind/body. The human psyche is beautifully complicated. It can create for us moments of exhilarating joy and excruciating pain. The key to maximize joy and minimize pain is very different for each individual. It is important to have a wide range of resilience building practices to draw from in order to create individualized self-care plans.

How can I find a therapist in Minnesota?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
