I am trained in EMDR therapy and working towards my certification.
It is a deep human desire to be seen, heard, loved and known. I am honored and humbled by my clients inviting me into their lives to witness their pain, struggles and perseverance. I am with my clients to empower and challenge them in their growth, healing and beauty. No matter the past or path that got them into the counseling room with me, my main focus is to partner with them to build a better future. Not a future to just feel better or make it to the next day or hope to have better relationship or to get over the past; but beyond. We work together as a team to flourish as a child of God, this side of Heaven.

Some of the modalities my clients and I use include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing ( EMDR ) Therapy, and interventions from Ego State Therapy and Narrative Therapy perspectives.
My passion for helping those experiencing barriers due to mental health started over 20 years ago, working in group residential housing, mental health case management, and rehabilitative services. That passion continues today, where I specialize in trauma-informed care, partnering with clients to deliver services that not only help them heal, but in a manner that meets people where they are on their recovery journey.

Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. Maybe you want to change but don't know where to begin. Perhaps you are unhappy with your relationships. Maybe you feel your past interferes in your life but have felt too scared to "go there." Maybe depression and anxiety are a part of your daily life. I know where to start. My first step is to create a safe place where you can learn to do things differently, where you can flourish instead of just surviving.

I am trained in both EMDR and ART.
The world is a more complicated place to live. I think those seeking therapy are trying to make sense of a world in which the rules have changed. Clients want a therapist who has experienced life, is human and can teach without preaching. I believe clients want to feel better, want to make sense of their past, not be buried or defined by it.Clients deserve a therapist who can create a safe, non judgmental environment to explore. They deserve a therapist who can foster trust in themselves, who will push but with compassion and safety.

I believe the mind and body have an inherent ability to heal, but we often experience many variables that get in the way. I enjoy working with clients who have struggled to find success in improving their overall health & mental health, have experienced various forms of trauma, high stress and relationship issues. I work with individuals, couples and families ages 14+. Through various trainings, educational and professional experiences, therapy is uniquely tailored to the needs of my clients. Brainspotting, DBT, Prepare/enrich, Gottman and EMDR are examples of modalities that may be used to fit a client's specific needs and goals.

My primary focus is creating a therapeutic relationship to facilitate change and healing in order to assist you in creating or rediscovering a sense of meaning and purpose in your life and relationships. I specialize in working with adults and families who have experienced the impacts of trauma and chemical dependency to assist in challenging old patterns of managing emotional distress and developing positive beliefs about the world and ourselves. My background in working with individuals who have experienced trauma has led me to pursue training in EMDR and to integrate this practice into therapy.

I utilize several clinical modalities including EMDR , cognitive-behavioral therapy, somatic work, solution-focused therapy, design thinking and mindfulness techniques.
Therapy, like life, happens in the context of relationships. Our first task will be to form our own. During this time I’ll hear from you about what’s going well in your life as well as what is feeling difficult or overwhelming. Our work can take several forms, but in all of them I value connection, humor, and authenticity.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
