Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, MA, LPCC
I believe that the road to healing begins with a therapeutic relationship based on acceptance, trust, and unconditional positive regard. Using existential therapy and person centered approaches, I guide clients towards exploring strengths and values to help frame their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that focuses on their proven resilience and empowers clients to live their most authentic lives. My greatest reward as a therapist is witnessing the courage and vulnerability clients demonstrate in taking steps to transform their lives by using healthy coping mechanisms, new forms of communication, and CBT techniques.
I use an integrative, individualized approach with clients because I believe therapy is a journey based on trust, and should be a space that honors clients knowledge and personal needs. Therapy is more than just a place to vent, and I strive to help people create forward movement. My style is warm, candid, and when appropriate, fairly humorous. My own journey as a daughter, partner, and mother to a 14 and 9 year old informs my work deeply. I work hard to create a space where clients feel free of judgment.
I provide a warm and supportive atmosphere where individuals can express their feelings, communicate their problems, and feel understood. I emphasize that when a client is living in a secure state of mind, they will be able to locate solutions to any problem. I recognize and encourage each individual to understand their innate potential for change and growth. The therapeutic process can be challenging and at times uncomfortable, but I will walk this journey with you, asking the hard questions, listening intently, and exploring perspectives. I hope that you will contact me when you are ready to venture into this wonderful new place.

For many of us, living fully in the present moment is hard to do when pain from the past forces itself into our daily lives. That pain can come from past abuse or neglect, rejection, disappointment, grief, a serious medical condition, feeling different or never fitting in, losses that may accompany aging or other life transitions, or the accumulated assaults of racism, sexism, homophobia or any other "ism". My goal as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Becoming Safely Embodied Practitioner is to work together with you to help you learn to live more fully in the present moment, free from the pain of the past.

*Not Accepting New Clients At This Time.* I have been a practicing psychologist for 23 years. I am compassionate, empathetic and I create a safe space that facilitates healing. I strongly believe that people have the resources and inner strength to overcome adverse experiences. I address each client as a person with unique circumstances and collaboratively work with them to achieve their goals in therapy. I have training in therapies designed to assist individuals in processing trauma, empower themselves and replace negative sensations with neutral or positives.
I am committed to providing a therapeutic atmosphere where you feel engaged and supported. A space where you feel comfortable to self-reflect to be able to create balance, feel peace, and feel more connected to those around you. I strive to create a collaborative experience working together towards goals identified by you. Together, identifying and drawing out resilient qualities to use towards healing and growth. I practice from a strengths-based approach while integrating therapeutic interventions to meet your unique goals.
Currently not taking new clients. Are you having relationship difficulties? Do you feel sad, anxious, overwhelmed? Do you often find yourself uncertain of where these emotions are coming from? Perhaps you looking for someone you can go to for support? I can help. I aspire to create a therapy space that feels safe. It can be difficult to feel comfortable when opening up to someone and telling your story. I use humor and shared interests to create a therapeutic relationship. Call for a consultation and together we can add power and control back into your life.
I work with a variety of people from early childhood to older people with much experience. I specialize in trauma and use a solution focused approach. I am certified in EMDR and love seeing the small successes clients achieve. I also offer clinical supervision.
Current Tues & Fri openings for in-person appts. I work with adults facing a variety of challenges who desire to make meaningful and lasting changes in the ways they understand and work with emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. I draw from psychodynamic and existential perspectives and use an empathic, relationship-based approach to tailor our therapy process to your unique needs, circumstances, and goals. By looking together intensively at the historic roots of problems, insights can develop into ways that old solutions get perpetuated in the present and new possibilities for more satisfying ways of being can emerge.
Most of us are seeking some kind of peace in our lives. At times our lives feel off track. We feel stuck, and hungry for things to be different. I will teach you skills and tools to make the needed changes to create the life you want. I give homework at the end of every session to help change the patterns in life that aren't working. These tools will assist you in reconnecting with your own wisdom, and in guiding you to your own answers. It’s possible to live a life of peace and joy. Since COVID many clients have discovered Telemedicine is a very convient way to engage in therapy without having to leave work or home.
